You have to bind a key to 'mod one' and 'mod two' in the keyboard configuration settings. To switch a weapon mod you have to press the mod key and the alt-fire button will do its thing.

So are you also going to construct the Maps from Doom as well into a somewhat TC within the IdTech 1 engine?

Thanks for the reply - I know about the default C and Z mod bindings, but not at all sure what they're supposed to do. I was using v06 BTW and went and got v06b from moddb. Awesome to see the monsters have been worked out, well done SAHZALPABAEL, but can't get the heavy assault rifle or combat shotgun to do anything other than primary fire.

I hit C and use my bound secondary fire key - no fire at all. I hit Z and use it - likewise. I press secondary fire and C or Z together - nothing.

Here's what I'm seeing:

pistol - more powerful shot, uses more ammo
combat shotgun - nothing
heavy assault - nothing
super shotgun - zoom
minigun - nothing
repeater - zoom/sniper rifle mode
plasma gun - nothing
lightning gun - more powerful/depletes cells more rapidly
vortex/static/gauss - zoom
BFG - nothing

Additionally, the C and Z keys do not seem to affect anything I can see. I am perfectly willing to accept the idea that I'm doing something really moronic or missing something obvious, but please help! :mrgreen:

Strange; the weapon mods work perfectly for me. I bind the weapon mod keys to V and B and my alt-fire to RMB and they work fluently.

Maybe you're supposed to collect the mod first and then choose to equip it.

I have a feeling this is exactly it, and it'll show up when I walk over the right gun. Thanks for the advice MJ79!

Also love the new Revenant first-person look. :)

Edit: okay - the video at moddb, which I believe is quite old, shows the player in level 01 of Doom 2. He has alt fire on both the heavy assault and combat shotgun. He also has all the weapons, so he presumably used the "give all/everything" cheat. Even if I do that, I cannot get alt fire on those 2 weapons. There is also a Hell Knight in that level, so I dunno what's going on, but that ain't my concern...I just want those mini-rockets! :?

<Yoda voice>Driving me nuts, it is!</Yoda voice> Developers, please help? Also, what is it exactly that the mod keys do? Are there multiple alt fire modes?

The "give all" cheat doesn't come with the mods for the weapons. Also, the mod keys simply equip whichever mod you have, and the alt fire mode depends on which mod you've equipped. For instance, if I have both mods for the combat shotgun, then either mod key equips either the charged burst or the explosive shot, and the alt-fire will fire either a 3-round burst or a grenade respectively.

Coincidentally I just learned this - got the two shotgun mods and understand you use the mod keys to switch between them. Whew, thanks very much for your help and looking forward to finding that Assault rifle mod. :)

there are some strange bugs
first time i collect the shotgun its this greenish tinted weapon with doom4 hud on it really ugly looking then after a while i switches to be this grey better looking shotgun (combat shotgun i suppose)
then the "green" shotgun cant be accessed anymore
the minigun sprite is as horrible as the green shotgun it has the doom4 hud from screenshots/video on it too
getting the revenant "weapon" sprite after rune pickup only happens 1/3 of the time most of the time its just no weapon displayed and the revenant pickup happens to make you get stuck where you picked up the rune and you have to wait 60 secs for it to run out
a and z buttons do nothing
where to get grenades after the one you get started with is used ?

but good project so far i love the feel of the combat shotgun
please use the open beta to get cleaner sprites

i tried the open beta after playing doom with this mod
the weapons feel better in this :cry:

Lucky you - until I find a compatible PC, I'm stuck to playing this mod. What are your exact specs?
