I gave most of the enemies their own Obituary/Hitobituary messages. For HitObituary, I also set the damage type of the enemies' melee attacks from "normal" to melee for them to appear.

A wild v1.04 appeared!


It's been a while since I've done anything to this version of the mod. There's a 2.0 in the far horizon, but thats technically a different mod. This, however, is a "small" update to the version that was released last year. This version focuses in making the game a bit more approachable regarding balance and several visual aspects of the game.

However it also brings the damage numbers as seen in D4T's Deathmatch, into Q4LFM-DE.

For the people asking for the napalm launcher, thats something that will not be happening anytime soon, if at all. Sorry about that, but I didnt find any good reason to bring it. A future update might do something kinda about it, but no promises ATM.

Below is the list of all the changes (i think i might've missed some, but these are the most relevant ones).

Have fun, and don't forget to report bugs or post suggestions :D

Well, I wanted to play something different, and I make sure i like to play the mods i make, even "old ones". It just needed some touches up

Anyway, I just had to release another update, small one at that, because i completely missed the fact that the mod was not working properly in mapsets that had any ACS (no AeonDM? hell nah!!)

Just played the Zaero wad with this gameplay mod and it was great, as Zaero is based on Quake 2 with Q2 textures and sounds. It's a shame that Zaero only ever had the first episode (3 large maps) completed, though, and the other three episodes never got made.

The mod's much more shiny now! It's a shame that the Napalm Launcher wasn't added. If there's no reasons to add it, is it because it's just Grenade Launcher that leaves flames? Maybe you could make the Napalm Launcher much more different than the original since you've deviated on some weapons working already. I was thinking of making the napalm shots fly straight and slow now, and if it hits a wall it just bounces and falls down to the ground. If it hits a monster or a non-solid object it explodes. And increase the damage for it to become useful in SP but maybe not so much in MP.

Also, is the Nailgun staying on scope even after it was deselected intended? It's been also like that in the previous version, and I made my own personal fix on it. I know what I did forgot the exact details.

I can't seem to remember how to get the SreenSize10 HUD (the one with weapon icons, ammo per weapon, and upgrade status) working on ScreenSize11 (true fullscreen; only ammo, health, and armor are shown). If anyone could whip up an SBARINFO for me, it would be much appreciated;

As a suggestion for DBThanatos, why not make the Weapon Bar a toggle like in D4T?

And perhaps the "incom9ng transmission fr0m Rhino Squad" widget in the real Q4 could be repurposed to show Kills, Items, and Secrets. as well as add an option to play the mod with the orange Strogg HUD, which only happens to CPL. Matthew Kane at a major plot point in Q4?
