With this gaming generation being well, "Questionable": This is something I've had on my mind for a while considering how many mascots have been pretty much either killed (Mega Man) or had their reputation tarnished (Sonic [to an extent] and Pac-Man) we have started seeing the likes of Mighty Number 9, Yooka Lalee and a few others. So I wondered to ask... Who do you think could continue ones spirit in someway?
Really, The only successor I can see if our favorite red plumber is to hit the dust are the Giana Sisters. For the others... I'm not really sure.
What games do you think could become spiritual sucsessors?

Igarashi's Bloodstained will hopefully bring back the glory days of 2D Castlevania (even if not in original form, I know oldschool CV guys be like, Metroidvania != Castlevania)... sad to see Cocknami butchering itself and its 90's legacies today

ROTT13 may be all pretentious as a ROTT reboot, but I see it as the spiritual successor to NAM

Personally, I'm intrigued by Formula Fusion. I've always been a massive WipEout fan, and knowing that the devs are partly made up of ex-Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool members and that they've actually got the Designers Republic back on board as well heartens me greatly.
Not prepared to drop the money for the Early Access yet, but I'm looking forward to the finished product. In the meantime, I'm content with the Slipstream GX beta.
As for Bloodstained, seriously looking forward to that, too. I'm also hoping that someday we get to see something along the same lines, but for Contra.

From all the rave reviews I've been hearing, possibly Undertale for FF6?

I don't really think it's anything like FF6. It's closer to the Mother games, if anything.Vaecrius wrote:From all the rave reviews I've been hearing, possibly Undertale for FF6?
