Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
Yup.
Thanks for showing!
If I'm to port monsters from Hexen/Heretic, I will do it myself. Guncaster already comes with code for death animations and drops and stuff, so there's no need to look into another mod for this stuff.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
I presumed things like "Hordes of Chaos X" and the like ported vanilla Doom monsters (and, in some cases, Hexen!) just for the slaughter factor. Also because normal Heretic monsters weren't tough enough.

Yeah, I'm gonna have a HUUUUUUGE bestiary for slaughter factor.
I love huge bestiaries.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
I've been waiting for something like this. I'd suggest tuning down kamikaze's and rare spells appearance rate.
Considering how often zombiemen are right behind door/corners, kamikaze spawn usually means cheap death.
As for spelldrops, I somehow got 2 Flamewaves from Hellflame Bruisers on the same map. They shouldn't have drop rate more than 25 or so.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
I've been waiting a long time for something like this too.
Kamikaze's speed will be tuned down, but the explosion will not. As I said, this mod will keep you on your toes. I do realize that the current speed is pretty unfair (it was good while it lasted, cuz I felt it was unfair that you could outrun them with ease... but now it's too easy to die).
Actually, the Hellflame Bruisers do have a drop rate of 25 (a little less than 10% chance) for their tomes... sometimes, it's just the luck of the draw.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
Alrighty, news bump!
I am almost finished with V2 of this mod. It already has more than twice the monster variants that it had before.
Also, some behavior changes were implemented.
The hardest part about uploading this type of mod is the uploading of every single monster picture and typing up descriptions for each.
I have a couple more tests to go, then I'll try and see about uploading it.
Ciao for now!

Looking forward to V2! More enemies and difficulty is never a bad thing.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
This is great. I was wondering if this is compatible with Unbeholden's dark monsters addon? Also can I use this mod WITH Project Brutality:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/a ... brutality/
It would make a great addon but I assume the multiple Brutal doom style death animations needs to be added/edit.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (now serving Vanilla)
I've never heard of Unbeholden's dark monsters addon. However, there is a vanilla version of this mod, which is the most multi-compatible version (as the Guncaster version is... well, specifically for Guncaster). I have no idea if it's compatible, but you're welcome to see if it is.
On the other hand, I do know of Project Brutality. A mod dear to my heart because of its awesome weapons and effects... but most of all because of its bestiary. I was also making a Brutal Guncaster patch, and once I was done with that, I would make a Brutal Guncaster version of this mod, and get all the brutal monsters I can get my hands on.
Ok, that's besides the point... if you would like to implement these monsters into Project Brutality, then be my guest. I always love to see Brutal Doom versions of custom monsters.
Just be sure you give credit where it's due.

You can checkout Unbeholden's Dark Doom Monster mod here:
http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=48949
He did update this to work with Project MSX and I have used it in Brutal Doom 2.0 but it does not have the extended brutalities of course. Works great though.

Re: [Add-On] Guncaster Monster Pack (V2 released!)
I wanted to get the rest of the Realm667 monsters down for V2. Now that I have, I think I'll move on to the Heretic/Hexen monsters.
But not for a while. More than doubling the amount of monsters here, plus uploading pictures and writing descriptions takes a lot out of a guy. Savor the moment for now, I'll get to it later.
Yeah... that's what V3 will feature...
