Hi guys bit of a long shot but, meh, don't ask never know eh?

I'd like to modify sof1 (soldier of fortune one) specifically the weapon skins but have no idea how to access the originals and even if i had them and edited them, how to implement them back into a .pak file for gameplay...

its the quake 2 engine but as yet I've found no helpfull stuff after an extensive search and as I'm on here a lot I thought, hell why not ask you guys :wink:

sounds are easy. I used quake one's pak editor to find out the directory and name of the desired wav file, then replace the file by placing it in a sound folder created in the user folder (not in the pak but in the main game folder itself) (simply copy the names of the directory list of folders and put your new sound in. this works as it is overwriting the file name.
but with the old quake one pak editor I cant even find the skins... :cry:

forget it I was looking in the wrong folder like a dolt! working now and skinning away like crazy LOL

had to put it on gamabanna as sof1.org is a nazi regarding its registering scheme. you have to name parts of the forum that are are not actual threads. how the hell would anyone know this info if they aren't already registered ON the bloody forum in the first place? insane.
imagine someone giving a list of some threads on this forum and asking you to pick out which ones were true or false... I'd have trouble doing that for here and I consider myself a zdoom veteran!

I tried checking it out but even then it said I got it wrong... to hell with them anyway!
