I'm interested in the supposed Linux support.
I guess it finally runs "flawlessly" on monogame, then?

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
The game performs normally in single player for me, but when i join a server my framerate is halved, or even lower, dunno if it's because of the update or my friend's server.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
I started a new world and one of the first items I found in a chest (haven't gone very far or very deep yet, just a bit of surface forest, surface desert, cavern layer) was a magic mirror.
Started turning a living tree into a tree house. "This is not valid housing" argh why?! Turns out that living leaf walls are not valid house walls.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
First night in Expert Mode:
stumbled across a pinky slime on the first day, that helped me get the merchant to move in quickly.
made a wooden yo-yo too. also pretty neat. works kind of like a flail but more controllable and bounces off enemies instead of piercing them.
discovered the hard way that jellyfish can make themselves temporarily invincible. that one, not so neat.
apparently you can make an "endless quiver" with 3996 wooden arrows (and a crystal ball). i can only assume that means infinite ammo. really shitty infinite ammo, but still. at least it's something to do with all those stacks of arrows in my old worlds.
Spoiler:also i found an enchanted sword like right below the surface which is pretty neat. certainly works better against the FUCKING ANTLIONS than my zombie arm did.

Good to know. And yes, you must actually place living leaf walls yourself, but for that you'll need the nature chick to appearGez wrote:I started a new world and one of the first items I found in a chest (haven't gone very far or very deep yet, just a bit of surface forest, surface desert, cavern layer) was a magic mirror.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
So,after an ass-long time without playing Terraria,i decided to get it and play around some
hours
Creating a new character
Large world
Pyramid with entrance open, and near a big motherfeffin tree
I made a house for the guide and adventured myself into a cave
Everything was fine until then
Eventually i found a minecart rail and decided to follow it
Ended up in an underground desert
At first i said "GEWD,this looks awesome"
But nope, flying motherfucking antlion surprise-rekt'd me
Also, charging antlions have a painfully high defense
AND crimson spawned over muh jungle
.
.
.
Also,made a yo-yo and found a kewl radar

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
I was just assaulted by a skeleton Hoplite. Since I've only seen one, I can only assume it's a rare spawn.
Worth the trouble of that STORM OF JAVELINS, I think; He dropped a stack of them (about 75) and they're not too shabby.
Beat the Eye of Cthulhu, as well. At first, didn't seem so bad. In fact he was barely dealing double-digits (wearing all lead armor).
And then I got to the second form... Ohhhh boy, the second form. I won't spoil it for you, but I'll say that he legitimately startled me when he showed off the new attack. Had to run back to the nurse a few times, but I won (barely), and got a frickin' sweet new item as a reward, too.
Currently debating what to do next; Farm the Eye for more Crimtane, fight the Brain of Cthulhu, or try my luck with Skeletron? I've beaten Skeletron with comparable gear before, but with Expert Mode enabled, I'm not so sure, considering I barely survived the Eye...
Or I could do fishing quests for a while?
edit: OKAY NOPE THE BRAIN'S A NO-GO

Spoiler:The Dryad's new magic ability is pretty neat. HUGE area of effect, minor DoT on enemies, and some sort of buff (healing? defense? IDK) on allies. Some of the NPCs just might prove to be worth bringing to a fight, now... assuming they scale at all. At least Goblin Sorcerers aren't going to be an issue anymore.

I don't know that worldgen-placed back walls have ever been valid for housing.IMX wrote:Good to know. And yes, you must actually place living leaf walls yourself, but for that you'll need the nature chick to appear

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
From what little I progressed in the early versions of the game (only got to gold tier; there's also that alternate gold tier metal, but back then it was only gold), I can't off the top of my head think of anything that would count as valid housing either. Dirt and stone are no-go's, but do sky houses count? I forget.NeuralStunner wrote:I don't know that worldgen-placed back walls have ever been valid for housing.IMX wrote:Good to know. Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
You may want to scout the world early on for a long, straight single-tile crevice into the ground.
If you're lucky you'll find yourself a very nice sword that goes very well with the new shield if you are skilled at moving around.

Re: The Terraria 1.3 Update.
Living Leaf Walls are player-created at a Living Loom. They are not worldgen walls.
The Dryad doesn't sell Living Leaf Walls, she sells Grass Walls, Flower Walls, and Jungle Walls.
