Reworked the gas masks. Really liking how these came out:

Hmm... hadn't thought about chaingun guys, think I'll add that to my to-do list...armymen12002003 wrote:Nice job with these i'd love to see chaingun and rocket launcher grunts too.

It's there - it's just not visible in the forward facing sprites, since it's situated relatively far down the back and isn't particularly large (I based the tanks off the Flammenwerfer 41, which was relatively compact compared to earlier flamethrowers... I didn't notice they were upside down until too lateCaptain J wrote:i don't see any gas tanks on their back, are they using the portable ones?

That said, though, looking back at the pictures I used for reference, I think I might have made them a bit too small.

ahh, it's there. and yeah, i think you made it very thin yet small, which it's not visible and looks like a backpack. hope you can make the good ol' fat gas tank for them.

Hello BigDave, awesome job here and still counting!BigDaveHadSomeToo wrote:Feurer Frei!

Well, I have a request for you: did you think you may do Pain rotations for the Camo variant?
It will be very appreciated, also because I added all of its frames right now on Blade of Agony.

Maaaaany many many thanks,
Ozy.

The intent is the pre-aiming frames are used for pain sprites - I'd usually edit these to have a wince and gritted teeth, but, with the masks... well, yeahOzymandias81 wrote:Hello BigDave, awesome job here and still counting!BigDaveHadSomeToo wrote:Feurer Frei!

I'll see what I can do when I come back to these, though.

I agree with BigDaveHadSomeToo (damn this is a long name to type
), I think the preaim should work here very well.

Big Dave, Dave, Big, Dayffd, Dewi, Daffy, Mr Bigglesworth, Commander Drillmann Murdoch or just BDHST would all be acceptable shorthand.
(Of course, the implication is that I'm just some third party accusing Big Dave of having had some too. Exactly who "Big Dave" is, and his motivations for "having some too" remain a mystery. All we can say for certain is that he's still at large.)

Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!
Haha... "Big Dave", "at large"... I crack myself up sometimes...
Anyway, to distract everyone from the fact I spent 3+ years laughing at one of my own jokes, here's a new spritesheet: I've redone the medikits I previously made with green diamonds instead of red crosses, created some WW2 appropriate armour pickups, Soviet WW2 and Dieselpunk weapons, some somber setdressing and a bunch of 1870s-esque stuff for... well, I won't ruin the surprise. (Need to rework some of those boxes to look more different...)
Oh, and Mysterious Runic Keys. Can't forget the mysterious runic keys.

I also noticed that the magazines I'd previously done looked a bit small (ok, they looked absolutely tiny and completely awful) next to the standard DooM *twitch* 'Clip'. So I redrew them all at a scale that matches, alongside a few variations of id's *TWITCH* 'Clip'. (Also also, a P90, because Stargate)

Higher quality (I think?) pngs are attached to this post. (Embedded images are .gif, and for some reason imgur has converted them to .png? Or just changed the extension? At least they aren't adding watermarks or trying to charge people for looking at them, but I was really hoping they wouldn't go 'the way of all image hosts'...)

Brilliant, awesome objects in there even though I am not sure what each of them corresponds to.

Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!
I'm never sure how far too go with annotations. The egotist in me wants to assume that obviously these are so great everyone can tell what they're supposed to be just by looking at them (which is obviously dumb, because I'm terrible at this), conversely, though, if I've drawn what I think is a inflatable elephant, and someone looks at it and thinks "hey, that's the perfect laser gun!", would me saying "this is an inflatable elephant" make them not want to use it as a laser gun?Tormentor667 wrote:even though I am not sure what each of them corresponds to.
The only solution is the to never label anything ever. Don't comment your code either!
(Oh jeez, now everyone's going to try and figure out which of these I think is an inflatable elephant...)
Anyways, I redid the armour pickups in the traditional Doom style: (This is an animated .gif, so click on it, because I can't actually embed the gif and what I can embed doesn't animation. I'm not sure why I can't use img tags anymore, but I guess it's somehow related to people not knowing how to compress images to reasonable sizes and/or techbros continuing to ruin the internet for everyone...)

A bit of a study on shading "the way id did", and redid those pesky cardboard boxes... (I'm relatively certain Spencer cartridges were supplied in little treasure chests. No one can prove me wrong!)

And, Mmmmmm, Treeeeeaaaasuuuuure?

(Why did Kings need Orbs of Power anyway? I mean, I guess if someone asked "hey, do you want a solid gold Orb of Power" I wouldn't say no, but, what use does it have? With a sceptre you can bop someone with if they're being unruly... did medieval rulers throw their orbs at people trying to run away from being sceptre-bopped? Is that it? I'd like to believe that's it.)

You can regain access to the img tag by reading through this announcement thread.BigDaveHadSomeToo wrote:I'm not sure why I can't use img tags anymore, but I guess it's somehow related to people not knowing how to compress images to reasonable sizes and/or techbros continuing to ruin the internet for everyone...)
