@BigDaveHadSomeToo - I noticed that this set doesn't have a weaponless variant yet (or a pistol variant), do you think you can include that as well?

Decided to add some more stuff to the British sprites - patches, helmets, camouflage smocks, bare knees, that sort of thing. Still working on them.Tormentor667 wrote:@BigDaveHadSomeToo - I noticed that this set doesn't have a weaponless variant yet (or a pistol variant), do you think you can include that as well?

Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!
More Dakka!
I... might have gone too far this time. I'm not sure exactly what use anyone would have for the muzzle loaders, maybe as set dressing? They're a too modern for something like Heretic (never mind that they wouldn't fit in with Raven's visual style!), and too old for Wolfenstein/Doom. Well, maybe someone will find a use for them!

I also redid a few of the older sprites, (such as the 303 stripper clip) and some new ammo pickups for these guns- lots of different AK rounds, steel cased, brass cased and various specially coloured fantasy metal tips, we've got Feltrite, Alienium, Demonite and... erm... Green.
I also completely redid the elite guard. They were basically already done but I decided I didn't like them, so:

Come in several fun colours, including "Villainous SS Black", "Slightly more realistic grey", "Oaken Camouflage", ""DAK Desert Brown", "Winter White" and... well, that's it actually.
(Er... that slight jitter, I just noticed that when I was making the animation. It's literally only this frame it's on. Not a problem with most of them, but the camo version looks weird. I'll see about fixing it, but it might mean I have to completely redraw the camouflage set)

don't you think whiter white is too much bright, without shades? try to make the dark parts darker.

I think the mags on the FN G1 and the H&K G3 are a bit short, unless you were deliberately going for the 5-round mags like the ones commonly used on the PSG-1.

Sort of yes, sort of no. Snowsuits are supposed to be very bright, I could do a higher contrast version as an option, but I do want to tend towards a more realistic theme over a "gamerized" one. (and, yes, I fully realize how ridiculous saying that is when talking about nazimutantsupersoldiers, just... suspend your disbelief!Captain J wrote:don't you think whiter white is too much bright, without shades?

Fixed! Also did a few G3 derivatives.Big C wrote:I think the mags on the FN G1 and the H&K G3 are a bit short, unless you were deliberately going for the 5-round mags like the ones commonly used on the PSG-1.

Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!

More frames for Mauser and Mondragon - I didn't include hands/flashes so you can add your own (also because I'm kinda lazy like that).
The Mauser has been slightly improved - the magazine on the pickup is a bit beefier and there's a proper broomhandle version. I also redrew the barrel, grip and ugly bit I copy-pasted from the alpha machine gun (it's a scientific term!) on the first person sprites.
I did have preview animations of these, but I forgot to tick the animation box while exporting them in GIMP, so they didn't work. You'll just have to take my word that the mondragon looks... slightly suggestive..., while the Mauser just looks like it's mocking me. Sorry about that

Oh man, by the way, any possibility of a scoped Ross rifle? I'm pretty sure Vaecrius would love one of those for Hideous Destructor.

Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!
Here's a bunch of AR15s.

The two in the top right corner are fictitious - the "service rifle" from Fallout: New Vegas (which is sort of a weird mash up of the M16A1 and AR10) and an Early AR15 with a wooden gripped M203, which I personally think looks rather classy.
The HBAR is based off a rifle Colt designed to replace the BAR, but, for whatever reason the US decided to use the M60 instead. Alternate history! Yay!
Also, I just noticed I forgot to change the number for the M16A4 - should be 905 not 645)
That said, it's definitely something on my "to do eventually" list, but I can't make any promises as to when it could be done. (or if I'll be able to do it at all, cursed mortality! I mean, assuming I don't get hit by some kind of bus, I've still got a good few decades, but... well... I'm very good at putting things off

Just a pickup sprite, or a first person set as well? I could do a pickup easy enough, but the first person sprites are a few hours solid work (a lot more if the shading or animations are complicated - which they probably would be with a scoped rifle), and there's a few other things I'd want to do first (1887 Winchester and other guns for my own little project), so...Big C wrote:Oh man, by the way, any possibility of a scoped Ross rifle? Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!
Both pickup sprite and first-person set, but no rush here so take your time.
Hideous Destructor has a sniper rifle based on the Ross (affectionately called the Boss) and I wanted to make a graphics set for it since the default rifle first-person sprite is the Doom Alpha rifle.
He actually already has a pickup sprite for it that properly looks like a scoped Ross, so if you need to prioritize the first-person set would be appreciated. Also, the animation of the rifle cycling the bolt in-game is kinda limited, so I don't need/expect you to animate the hand cycling the bolt or reloading. It just dips off the screen Goldeneye-style for both of those actions, so only the hand bracing the rifle is really necessary.

Re: Wolfenstein and beeeeeeeeeeeyooooooond!
Did someone say.... Kalashnikovs!?
No? You sure? I could swear I heard someone say Kalashnikovs... jeez, I gotta lay the cheese, stuff's messing with my head...

(I think I got all the cool ones, except the Vz.58, but technically that's not an AK, so we're fine)
What's that Gorgonzola, kill everyone? But... who'll clean up the mess? Oh... Mr Red Leicester, you decided to come to our tea-party after all... I set up a place between the Bree and Doomsday device, for you, in case you changed your mind...

Feurer Frei!

Flammenwerfer soldiers, in Heer, DAK (both with Scarf+Cap/Helmet and Gaskmask+Helmet) and SS (in black, grey, and oak Camouflage) flavours.
The ones with the gasmasks look a bit similar to the Elite Guard, so I'd recommend using the cap/scarf combo if you're planning on those in the same project, this way both character types look distinct - might come back to these and rework the gasmask design a bit, to solve this issue. (also might add combination walking/firing frames, would be pretty cool having them hunt the player down just setting random stuff ablaze around them)
