Tried making some new pain sprites, not too pleased with them (still look too similar to the aiming sprites), but, better than nothing, I guess
Image
(though, it's just now occurred to me how Popeye-esque they look, so, period appropriate, if nothing else)

One question BigDaveHadSomeToo: We are currently using this one as sprite for the bartender in our intermission map:
Image
It's stolen from Strife and pretty lame. Do you think you can come up with something more fitting? It doesn't need to have walking, death, attack or pain states, just something static, maybe doing some gestures, cleaning a glass, things like that :)
Could have a shot at it... do you have something particular in mind (quatermaster-turned-boozemaster? French Resistance?) or should I just go hog-wild? :3:

Very good stuff :) I really like them!

Well, it's an Allied base somewhere in Europe, not sure yet where it actually is but France might be possible. I have nothing general in mind, I just like the way Strife's original is acting a bit (standing still but moving arms, looking around)... it's totally up to your skills and imagination as anything is better than the Strife-one :)

Something like this?
Image
Should be easy enough for me to animate, just nick the arms off one of the strife NPCs and draw over them :P

(Of course, now that I think about it, I don't actually have the Strife IWAD, so, maybe not so simple :| )

EDIT:
Image
Turns out Strife characters have really wide shoulders, so I just redrew the arms from scratch :p

That's already very good but ... is this a shotgun on his back? :) If it is, I think it'd be better to remove it, as I doubt that a bartender has a shotgun on his back while being at work on a allied base :)

Other than that brilliant work, very good stuff, really... expect a pm in the next few minutes :)

An Allied base in occupied Europe, though? Even in friendly territory, there'd be enough fascists (SS Commandos, Vichy Sympathizers and Franco's Spain sitting just behind you) around I'd rather not be too far from something lethal :P

(Her back, not sure many guys had long hair and lipstick... even in France :p )

Easy enough to remove, though, if you don't like it.

M1 carbine variant pickup sprites: An actual M1 carbine (the version on the spritesheet is an M2 - the late war/Korean select fire version. There's a very good reason for this that I will never elaborate on), an M1A1 for Paratroopers (not to be confused with the M1A1, M1A1, M1A1 or M1A1), M3 (used as the basis for the Snooper rifle in RTCW) and some loose .30C ammo.

Were the gifs ok for this? I wasn't sure how GIMP handles exporting them (never mind whatever compression imgur might decide to use on them) - some of the other graphics programs I've used tend to pretty direly screw up colours with gifs. They did look ok next to the bitmaps, but haven't actually checked the exact colour values to see if they match up. (I will upload the XCF when I'm content that everything's done).

I'm not being picky or anything, I just want to know if I'm wasting my time uploading the bitmaps :p

Yeah, those pain sprites works well, I just need to redefine a bit decorate lumps for Allied Marines and everything will be ok.
I also added you inside credits now, so welcome aboard BigDave! :-D

Shambler and a few Ashots from Metro 2033/LL, plus a few alternate shotgun shell pickups inspired by the same source
Image
Some of the guns from this game are completely ramshackle and ugly as hell, so obviously I love the shit out of them :P

US Army, Paratroopers and Marines with Pistols (with and without helmets - working on Russians and Brits, need to redo some things for them first, though)

Also, another ton of pickup sprites:

Redid all the medikits, a few more WW2 grenades and ammo boxes, some heavy machineguns (Dushka and Ma Deuce), a bunch of .50 rounds and boxes, some keys based on card suites, Dukem style keycards, Jerrycans, Pipebombs, Dynamite, a slightly less futuristic chaingun and pretty much every rifle the Germans used during WW2. I think that's everything.

Remember: Never Donk Alone.

Oh dear, I am really loving such stuff! Wolfensome!

Expect the same thing I did for older ones with these new foes, we'll use both variants on BoA.
