I'd like to request a "+centerview" and "-centerview" in console, with the same "lock" as +mlook and -mlook. The rationale is that a lot of weapons mods like to fiddle with y-shearing for simulated "kick-back" recoil of weapons like revolvers or rocket launchers, making these mods practically unplayable for players that do not use mouselook exclusively.
As I use the vertical movement of my mouse for actual player movement, this is added hassle as I have to press another button on the keyboard to stop looking at the ceiling after several shots. This seems to affect all weapons mods that use the "kickback" features.

I have no idea how this should work. All centerview does is resetting the view pitch to 0. How would you make a toggle option out of this?

I assume what he wants is a way to lock the view at center, regardless of anything the game does to alter the view pitch.Graf Zahl wrote:I have no idea how this should work. All centerview does is resetting the view pitch to 0. How would you make a toggle option out of this?

I'd rather see lookspring work when using 'always mouselook'. Perhaps a short time with no change in pitch should reset the pitch to 0.
Re: +/-centerview in console
Kate recommended "sv_nomlook 1" for singleplayer, but not sure how that'll work in multiplayer unless everyone agrees.

I'm in full support for a user option that disables mod-side pitch alterations! I'm a keyboard-only user, and weapon recoil is too bothersome for me. It just turns me off of mods that use it.
