I'd want a sonic screwdriver. What couldn't you do with one?

Starship Troopers (bookverse) powered armor, complete with nukes? Personally, I'd go the opposite route. Something Go-Lion Voltron sized, like the Five Star Stories Empress Flame.

'67 Shelby Cobra GT 350, with classic dual white stripes on blue coat. As well as a pair of maiming ocelots to keep people from drooling on it. I'd name them Sekhmet and Bast.

Realistically? A fully functional computer.

Which is a good car, of course. The DeLorean is more of my nerd side in me. Realistically, I'd actually want the Honda CR-V for a daily drive. Something about that SUV sparks the 'I REALLY LIKE ITS DESIGN!' mentality. Woe is me.

Zandronum-quality netcode and online interface for GZDoom. Or vice-versa.

An internet landline with adequate speed that I don't have to sell my soul to Comcast/Centurylink to get.

A badass gaming-ready tower PC to go with the above.

A dozen clones of Vaecrius to help him make Hideous Destructor even better. :P

A $50,000 (minimum) a year job.

My student loan debts fully repaid.

A girlfriend.

Enough time to make it to church every Sunday.

A lovable gang of idiots that can meet me for Smash Bros, tabletop games and beer every week.

The complete print set of Inuyasha.

The latest DVD/BluRay/whatever versions of Akira, Blade Runner, Alien/Aliens, and many many other films.

A lifetime supply of soft pretzels, bacon and root beer.

Also seconding LilWhiteMouse's wish for power armor. I could care less about cars, I wanna parkour to work like a majestic land-eagle!

Why on earth would we want to implement a badly-fudged netcode? :|
There is a reason why it was never introduced from that start.

Wouldn't something actually built for purpose from the ground up be vastly better?
When I said 'netcode', I meant 'plethora of internet options' and phrased it wrong. Point is that in most online games I can get decent ping even on my little wireless gizmo, but GZDoom netplay has always been a hilariously jittery mess for me.

Then again, it's always been when I played Hideous Destructor and that mod is a wonderful, terrifying pile of Decorate spaghetti. :P

The ability to play Nuts.wad in Doom 3 just for laughs.

EDIT: Might as well make this a somewhat serious post:

-Cross-idtech1 game compatibility (i.e. play Doom levels in Heretic! Play Hexen levels in Strife! Play Chex Quest levels in Doom! Fight Hacx or Harmony monsters in Adventures of Square because UAC science magic that D'Sparil dicked around with as a result of a drunken dare from Korax!)
-An idtech1 "demake" of Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil, and user-made levels/mods.
-An idtech1 "demake" of Quake 1 + Expansions and Hexen II + Portal of Praevus.
-Motivation to make my own randomizer mod (that'll never happen, heh :v).
-More custom content for Heretic, Hexen, and Strife.

Two compatible gameplay mods, one named

BOFA, which helps control monster flow so that the system only processes those that can directly attack you from a reasonable distance and keeps the rest idle (or removes them to spawn them later)

and the other

DEEZ, a general weapon/monster optimization mod that is very generous with ammo

With Doom, It's actually faster to just run the monsters than it is to find out if they should be run based on distance checks. The monster AI isn't actually complex. :P

I'm not sure you realize who you're quoting there. I'm pretty sure that if Vaecrius could somehow program Hideous Destructor's monster AI to leap out of your computer, kick sand in your face, spill your drink, steal your boyfriend/girlfriend and ride off in your favorite car, he very well might try it at least once. :P
