Mick Gordon seems to play a lot guitar. I don't think you're "missing out on anything".fukenciojones wrote:But I do miss some guitar riffs on that gameplay

There's always that sweet Doom 3 Classic remake of the music if you want something to jam out to while playing.

I don't see the need for Doom to require Metal / Rock Music. My favorite songs from Doom don't even have distorted guitars in them; The Healer Stalks and Sinister.

About what have been said few posts earlier regarding modding tools. I'm convinced that all kind of arguments like "It's too hard to use for you, amateurs" are total BS.
In fact, they just cannot accept that someone can release several maps for free while they can make people pay for these.
Christ, they could be capable to release a modding tool and charge a ton of model packs for it.

Re: June 14th: Doom 4 Gameplay Reveal (Teaser Inside)
there's clearly a guitar being played in the At Doom's Gate riff in the Doom 4 trailer. i fail to see where the complaints are amounting as to the lack of metal in the game. Doom's soundtrack isn't even metal all the time, for fuck's sake. this isn't dubstep, grimy basslines is not exclusive to dubstep, and even then the execution doesn't rely on a drop or anything. if anything i'd say that the soundtrack doesn't particularly "stand out" the same way Doom's songs do. it's great for atmosphere and there's a lot of cool, unsettling shit going on in the new Wolfenstein games though.

As I mentioned before, it reminds me more of the music found in the Ps1 version of Doom as well as Doom 64. It's more of a moody atmospheric piece that goes for a horror esque feel.

It seems like everyone thinks that Classic Doom was nothing but massive hordes of monsters and heavy metal. It's like they forget that levels like Phobos Lab, Deimos Lab, or Halls of the Damned ever existed. In all honesty, Doom's more atmospheric, suspenseful, and moody levels were the most memorable for me.

Music is fine. Mainly because it's music and not just ambient.

my eyes are still bleeding from the sheer tears of joy! its my birthday today and I have now been playing and modding doom for 2/3 's of my life !!
what a great present from id! this is a proper doom remake... it has aspects clearly inspired by some of our mods here too. this is the doom for our kids. the next gen is here and doomguy with it... and as for modding this? looks like that got that covered with that interactive game-generator thingy there... classic doom still has its place though... no chance that will ever be left behind. in fact the fact that this new doom has so much of the old one in it has cemented that for generations of gamers to come... we are all a part of this now more than ever.
awesomeness

I'm planning to go to Six Flags Great Adventure tomorrow. You know what would be awesome? A roller coaster named 'Doom' and themed around the game. But what kind of coaster should it be - wooden (like Apocalypse/Terminator Salvation from Six Flags Magic Mountain), steel or inverted?

Re: June 14th: Doom 4 Gameplay Reveal (Teaser Inside)
Perhaps a green steel design similar to Doom Guy's armor. The beginning of the ride could be going through a tech base, the Deimos base, the surface of oblivion, and then maybe the demon invaded cities of Earth if they have the space for it. All the while, demon animatronics could try to pop out as a cheap jump-scare as the ride goes along. So it's like the riders are going through the events of the two games themselves.
