Yes, but this *is* a wishlist, after all. ^_~Cyb wrote:and > 45 viewing angle is all but impossible with doom's rendering, allowing more would require a total rewrite for a game that was never intended to have mlook in the first place. I can't get into it too much, but from my understanding floors and ceilings in doom don't exist in the same way they do in true3d games.

Outside of that, the texture can be gotten at http://switch.to/doom2textures. The rest is the MD2 model pack for jDoom, Abbs' alternate weapon pack and *maybe* Abbs' alternate models, too (I don't recall). Looks nice, doesn't it? :)

Not to mention... I just tried in Legacy, and angles of up to 90 degrees up/down for freelook work just fine in there. So, unless Legacy rewrote the whole engine, it should be doable. :)arcticwolf wrote:Yes, but this *is* a wishlist, after all. ^_~Cyb wrote:and > 45 viewing angle is all but impossible with doom's rendering, allowing more would require a total rewrite for a game that was never intended to have mlook in the first place. Except you're trying it in a hardware rendering mode. Run Legacy in software mode and see what angles you get.arcticwolf wrote:Not to mention... Then go play the latest ZDoomGL in hardware mode.

Ah, ok. Another reason to integrate hardware rendering into mainline ZDoom, then.arioch wrote:Except you're trying it in a hardware rendering mode. That Screenshot looks like a TC for Quake2 that looks like doom. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd say you took a screenshot from SOG.arcticwolf wrote:Outside of that, the texture can be gotten at http://switch.to/doom2textures. It's 404 becuase there's a period at the end. Remove it.
And, sicne this still is the wishlist thread.. that Anibus command, to scare the enemies.. Wouldn't be it really cool to let us chose via sliders how "possable" it is to scare the enemies? Or use some through on per enemy how scarable they are.

Yep. Blame phpBB's parsing code. In any case, here's the correct(ed) link for the lazy:Death Mage wrote:It's 404 becuase there's a period at the end. Remove it.
