Oh goodie a new version gonna have to give this a try are you gonna make it compatible with hexen and strife too?

Maybe sometime in the future I'll look into it. The big problem for both though is going to be hubs; currently the Game Over sequence wipes your inventory clean, and that includes puzzle items and keys (not to mention Strife's "flag" items). If you get a Game Over in a hub, the hub won't reset, but you'll lose your puzzle items and keys and therefore make it impossible to complete.

There's also the falling damage in both games to contend with. I could just make the player immune to fall damage, but then they'll end up getting stuck in Hexen's deadly chasms unless they have the Wings of Wrath (and in Hexen, the Wings of Wrath are often received at the time when the hub's final exit is accessible).

Awesome mod!!! The only thing I could suggest adding is the auto respawn of former humans and imps to keeps things tense!(like nightmare diff) but only for these 2 basic monsters also maybe increase respawn timer in proportion of how many of them they are in a level. It would help the contra feel a lot imo , no moment of respite from basic grunts to always give you something to shoot at! =P .By the way im currently running maps after maps of oblige with -respawn/-Fast monsters/ 3 lives tokens and its flippin insane XD!

Edit :Also the cyber demon and spider mastermind should have a higher pain tolerence /hp im able to stun lock 2 at once with either , Homing , Spread or Laser tier 2 or with enough Rapid fire ^^' arch viles seemed ok though , they are still able to shoot fire im my direction even with heavy lazer peppering (tier 2 lazer with tier 3 rapid fire) .One last thing,maybe you could try to , increase the hp of cyby's rockets , would still give you the contra feeling of destroyables rockets but would be more of a tactical descicion depending on the space avalaible and make them still explode even when the player shoot them down.

Found the Doom-Contra map from Sebastián Evaristo its a must have with this mod!! Also,I think ill redo the wall boss at the end (will most likely differ from the original but, would be better than a cybi XD.)

I have been playing this with the DUMP 1 mappack, but something weird happens in the secret level. When I die in the secret level, even when I have extra lives, the level resets. It doesn't happen with the other levels.

If you want to play the level write in the console "map secret".

Edit: Also, this easily turned into my favorite mod.

You can already make monster resurrect out of Nightmare mode in the gameplay options of ZDoom and GZDoom.

That because DUMP has it's own MAPINFO that Contra Doom overwrites. Contra Doom needs to redefine maps MAP01-MAP32 so that the player can respawn. The map "SECRET" isn't defined at all, so the player doesn't respawn. I've actually posted a feature request about this just last night.

I have set up a respawning system for zombiemen, imps and lost souls in the next version. Look out for it! :wink:

Indeed my good sir!! thats why I had -respawn in my commad lines! ^^ so myhea I was already doing it from the beginning.

i could use some help with the sounds in that mod.

the H gun, when fired constantly, is simply migraine-inducing - at least for me. i don't know if it's problem with my headphones, i tried randomized pitches in zdoom and that didn't seem to help. if anyone has some tips on what i could do about that, i can work on the sound file on my own, maybe cutting down the bass on that sample?

i think me and yuke helped about this before and now it went better. also it's not so migraine-inducing if you lower the volume down.

anyway you can pinch the sounds randomly in zdoom or gzdoom easily, and it works. to pinch the sounds, go to option and to sound option and turn on the randomized pinches.

EDIT: did i mentioned that every projectiles except flamethrower doesn't have any decals at all? no, i mean the gzdoom and zdoom, not zandronum.

One flaw that's been bugging me is there's no custom player sprites. Other then that I love this mod to death just fuelling all of this nostalgia. :D

I don't get this issue. This is a Zdoom mod, why do Custom Player Sprites really matter?

To be fair, I do use a deathcam, but IDK why you would use the chasecam AKA "Thing you can't see with"

Chasecam height/distance is fully adjustable. Entirely possible to see over your character's head towards whatever you're shooting at.

Anyway, this is ace. Any plans for the Hard Corps weapons in the future? ;)
