The whole idea isn't exactly original either.

Why play a "if it was made in 93" pk3 using sourceport features when you could play one of the many blood/gore "enhancing" mods of 94-96?

I've been messing around with the BD's (and ketchup mod) blood and gore effects for a while now, and you can find entries like "NASHBLUD" inside the code. So yeah, i think he merged the Nashgore into his own work.

You know, i actually remember doing a project where i replaced some of the doom sprites with hexen stuff, because i thought it'd be cool.

Perhaps it was for better sprites for blood effects then, since i only had the Quake 3 blood sprite when he got my gore code to use on his mod, incredibly that sprite still remains there as the japanese gore juice-like sounds.

This is not a gore mod, and it does not use any special feature. It just replaces the graphics and sounds. Nothing else. However, for compatibility with the vanilla .EXE, I will include a new download.

if BD was made in 1993 it would just be the death animations of the enemies changed to be more bloody, with no separate objects flying off, it would all take place in 1 sprite not separate sprites. first time I seen pieces of gore coming off of a monster was when Heretic came out and you killed one of the gargoyles.

Ooo! Ooo! Slim down the ACS and port it to Chocolate Hexen! Scripting capability and that tasty early 90's feel! With a little ingenuity, you could probably get exploding gibs in there.

That would be a lot of time-consuming with low-cost benefit effect. Also a lot of ZDoomers do not like having extreme gore mods. This is a weapon-mod only.

The rocket launcher looks really fudged up, looks like its on top of another rocket launcher that doesn't move at all when firing.

Overall I guess this "Mod" ?????? is okay.... its really kind of pointless to be honest but ill be nice and slap a gold star sticker on your homework.

Good job Champ =D

everyones been rude in this, but its definitely a chill little lite project. i see what youre going for and everyone is just trying to start a fight over one or another "its not exactly a mod" "its not really how it would be in 93 because of mleh" "brutal doom blah blah".
no wonder its hard to keep people in the community. looks like a damn youtube pissing match in here. "its not death-metal, its death-core.

either way, i see what you did, a nice little reskin and resound and i commend you for your efforts.
welcome to the zdoom forums. just be sure to credit whose work you use, and respect your elders and youll be golden.

The reason why people are being a little rude is because their getting pretty tired of people coming here and trying to seek easy fame by making a mod for brutal doom. It's not like we haven't seen a brutal doom mod before, in fact we have seen a rash of them. I wish there was a rule to stop people from taking someone else's mod and making their own spin on it and calling it their own. Now I have nothing wrong with edits, hell even i'm guilty of making my own faction for zdoom wars and hosting a server for it but you don't see me waving it around on the zandronum forums and making its own official thread.

Now i'm not saying anything against the creator of this little...mod but please be original and make a mod that has nothing to do with brutal doom because frankly...no one cares.

Such a rule would be extremely stupid and [censored word].
I wish there was a rule to stop people from taking someone else's mod and making their own spin on it and calling it their own
No one's doing that.
Now I have nothing wrong with edits, hell even i'm guilty of making my own faction for zdoom wars and hosting a server for it but you don't see me waving it around on the zandronum forums and making its own official thread.
And why shouldn't they be allowed to do so? Every mod should be allowed to have its own official thread, even if they were made on top of someone else's mod.
Now i'm not saying anything against the creator of this little...mod but please be original and make a mod that has nothing to do with brutal doom because frankly...no one cares.
If no one cared we wouldn't be here.

You are under no obligation to be in this thread, just so we're clear.

I'm sorry? Are you fucking serious? I did not seek "easy fame" and I'm not asking for someone to play it, either. I, myself, DID mentioned that this is just a re-texture pack for the weapons, and that I take no credit for the sprites or sounds found in Brutal Doom and used in this little add-on. I'm not a Brutal Doom fan at all (I rarely play it) but I think that the weapons look extremely badass and for those who don't like Brutal Doom (Including myself) would like to have badass models on their good ole Doom, but still keeping the gameplay and animations intact. This is anyway my first released mod for ZDoom so obviously, it's bad, but a good start.

I actually thought that the idea was original, and no, a lot of people care about Brutal Doom, but this is not what my goal. My goal is better weapon sprites. That's all.
