Thanks. I'm fiddling around with making complex versions of the same model for baking skins for the simple version. Also trying to avoid making one gigantic mesh at a time.

I wasn't clear enough to explain it. What i meant was are you possible to make 3D model of borg cube. With fancy details etc.

Totally. Just start Blender - BOOM, done.

The hard part is the texturing, which I have options for...

As you can see, I have texturing that would work for that. Man, this might be a ton easier than I thought... If every second of my time wasn't taken up this week, I'd whip one up tonight.

Maybe next week.

When trying to create a model for GZDoom, you want to minimize the detail as much as possible and front-load it into the texturing. So, basically you'd be getting a cube. Creating a cube out of a ton of plumbing would make many people's systems just CHUG and we don't want that.

If anybody can show me how to give it those green under-tones, I'm all ears. I already have a bright map made for the pipes, so I supposed I could use that for a layer mask and sandwich it.

Plans right now are for Klingons to be the primary enemy. Possibly others in the future, but I need to limit my scope so that I can actually get something released. Unfortunately, things aren't moving as quickly as I'd like because of real life...

At this point the biggest piece that's lacking is maps. Basic weapons, textures, and gameplay mechanics are essentially done - or at least usable (there are a couple of placeholders that I need to redraw or get permission to use from the artist, and none of the animations for consoles are done). I need to do some more modeling of heads for NPCs and enemies, but the code and basic models are usable for them, too.

PLEASE give us TOS Klingons...

Need help with a story concept? Don't need tons of weapons for a Trek mod - just phasers and disruptors, really. I'd like to think a TOS mod would be more interactive and puzzley like the old 25th Anniversary and Judgement Rites games.

Is this the Enterprise? Some other ship? About where and when is this supposed to be set? Single player only? Multiplayer? So, we got Klingons and we the Federation. Anybody else involved?

I'd like to see some team deathmatch or capture the flag kind of game option starring with federation and klingons.

I'd love help with the story concept and with pacing out the 'plot' of the 'episode' (aka, the puzzles to solve and the progression of the story). Story is the weakest part right now... I hit a creative wall, and didn't want to look like I was ripping off other stories (which is hard with Star Trek, given the amount of material that's out there).

This is essentially set in what would have been 4th season of TOS. My plan (such as is it) is to have the Enterprise as essentially a hub level, with missions "unlocked" sequentially, accessible via transporter, shuttlecraft, or even aboard the ship, depending on what actions you take.

Current weapons are:
  • Phaser Type I (alt-fire is stun)
    Phaser Type II slightly stronger, (alt-fire is disintegrate)
    Photon Grenade Launcher (mortar based off of the one in 'Arena', alt fire is 'smart' homing missile at slower fire rate)
    Phaser Rifle (even stronger that Type II phaser, but no alt fire at this time - plan is to make alt fire toggle power levels/beam type)
    Klingon Disruptor (hold for three-shot bursts, alt fire is a mortar)
Additional weapon slot items:
  • Tricorder (scans surrounding items; possession enables hud map radar, alt fire places a navigation 'beacon' on your radar)
    Communicator (Eventually supposed to communicate with the ship/landing party/etc. Right now is hard-coded to return you to Transporter Room 1.)
Lots of other little gameplay details are in place - Most decorations are destroyable, computer consoles, buttons, etc. are usable if they have an action special set, certain crates are usable (they spawn an item from a select list inside, depending on their first argument value), some crates are explosive, etc.

Possibly later... Everything *should* be MP compatible to start, but single-player is the focus.
