If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

What's that got to do with anything? Can someone be barred from making video games just because of their personal political beliefs? That seems rather exclusive in a time where inclusiveness is all the rage.

The game doesn't really look like something I'd want to play, but that doesn't mean that I don't think they should be allowed to make it.
Why not wait for someone to actually advocate censoring the thing before you lash out at them over it? It would make you look more reasonable, certainly.

You know, seeing wrongs that aren't there is what leads to bigotry and exclusiveness.

I still don't see why it's relevant to bring up the developers' personal politics. They're neo-nazis, so what? It doesn't look like they're forcing their politics onto the game, at least from what little has been shown. And that's a lot more than I can say for some games from the "politically correct" camp this seems to be aimed in direct opposition to. Yes, it's a game about killing innocent people just because you can, but it seems rather indiscriminate about who you kill. If you were, say, specifically rewarded for killing minorities, or punished for killing white people, then it might be relevant to bring up that the authors are neo-nazis. Actually, it probably wouldn't even need to be brought up, since I think it would be rather obvious. But as it stands it just seems like an easy way to write off a game that, at its core, isn't very different from many other shooter games. It's funny what a little change in window dressing can make in a game's reception. Write a happy plot about saving the world, and it doesn't matter how many people are killed by your actions in the game. Write something dark like this, and, well, we can all see what people think of that firsthand.

this is both A: boring looking
B: absolutely disgusting in its ways and is wronger than wrong
C: intentionally trying hard to be edgy to appeal to the mid teens kids even though its an adult game
and D: neo-nazis are literal scum of the earth so hey!

what the issue is, is that rather than make it an accident or by player choice, like many other games with innocent people getting killed (such as gta or the stuff), its sole goal, with nothing else in the way, is to literally commit the genocide of hundreds and thousands of people. there is no choice. its about being as edgy as possible.

plus the main character looks like the type to be a dumb edgy nerd whos all "FUCK THIS WORLD...... IM DARK......EDGY.... IM THE REJECT IN SOCIETY........... FUCK THIS EARTH." and in that aspect i cant help but just laugh my ass off and feel bad at it

its disgusting and stupid and it just looks like a poor man's ego-twinstick shooter

To answer Eric_, The reason you shouldn't buy games from people who are literal neo-nazis is that purchasing a game from them is an implicit approval of their actions. You are financially backing a group of people who are neo fucking nazis. It doesn't matter how cool the game is, proceeds are still going to support neo-nazis.

I take it they couldn't get the rights to Drowning Pool's hit single for this? Also, I was waiting for him to rip off Rorshach's monologue. I was only semi-disappointed.

1) Developer realizes game is a dull mess
2) Developer maximizes on EDGE, claims it's a political commentary
3) ???
4) PROFIT

I hope you've never bought anything John Carmack's ever had a hand in, or do you support thievery?

There is no possible way that this discussion can end badly.

(And by that, I mean there is every possible way this discussion can end badly. I am keeping an eye on things. Please keep it cool.)

Aye, let's brush the political stuff aside because it drives everyone crazy more than the game itself.

One time on Youtube I followed the guy that made music for one 1997 game

Then he posted "finish what H started" in the feed

it gave me a bit of perspective on why that game was the last game from that developer

tl;dr: extremist gamedevs suck period, especially the closet ones that come out of the woodwork after you've supported them. It gives you enough guilt to destroy your copies and your backups.

(and yes this game is still for sale on Gog, with your typical glowing 'oh nostalgia!!!' reviews)

Just loving how many jimmies are rustled.

Haven't bothered to check dev team's backgrounds yet, are they all, or most, neo-nazis?

Ironically, it's not called Postal, however I do not want to give it any more attention than the year and the fact it was their last game

I think one reason this rubs people the wrong way is that postal went out of its way to make the people that you interact with genuine idiots, here, they literally are just normal people with normal lives. postal was satire, this isn't.

and if the info is right, some of the guys working on this worked for farm 51 (makers necrovision and painkiller HD) which says to me the gameplay might be good, but.....yeah.

and I highly doubt that a bunch of neonazis would help make a game that demonized them to the extreme (necrovision)

Necrovision was set during WWI, not WWII, so you weren't fighting Nazis, but imperial Germans instead.

Also I find it amusing that anyone would think something made by neo-nazis is worth supporting or even worth humoring.
