Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
true it is a piss-poor job but meh! I'm no texture artist. I mostly do sprites. these are in-fact the first textures I've ever worked on! LOLWoolie Wool wrote:The shading on the flag on the cobblestone wall is really off, it looks like the flag is made of polished metal.
as for the lift interior, its a direct fudge of the lift interior button from the mac version. so flat it may well be but it has to match the rest right?
the more I look at the cobble-flag the more I hate it now. I've given the flag a totally different treatment: its better looking but less faithful in colour/form to the original sod graphic however a lot of the mac graphics feature differnces but still retain the 'feel' of the originals. I feel this is better. Also I've recoloured parts on the lift interior to better match the original...
anyway, in other news I've redone my lost-episode pistol to better reflect it's one-handed predecessor and knocked up a knife for this set too. the original was darker and had no hilt. so so is/does mine

The original Lost Episode pistol looked like a squirt gun, absolutely terrible compared to the original in Wolf3D. Yours I love though!

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
very glad to hear this! I feel its the in-game sound that simply makes this gun. it just seems to match up to the sprite so nicely and makes it feel kinda badass! LOLGhostbreed wrote:Hell yeah

on another note I do hope that afadoomer does put the textures (those deemed worthy enough, that is) into the next highres pak as I tried this morning but got totally lost putting them in. Its the old texture names that's buggering me.
I gave the new textures names that followed in the sequence, from mwall037 onwards etc.. fine enough
but its the texture.txt lump thats got me stumped. Its doesn't seem to refer to the original texture names and I can't for the life of me work out which old texture had what name, leaving my textures just sitting there in the folder looking lost!
=EDIT=
ok, forget all that I figured it out myself!
here it is: http://www.4shared.com/zip/dC4D6vwL/osj ... addon.html
and within is a sheet of the new textures, a sheet of my new weapons and my weapon mod is in there too! to run these, simply replace wolf3d_highres.pk7 with hires.pk3 in your considated.bat shortcut and add -file osjc_wolfguns4.pk3 to the end to enjoy the gunpack too!
let me know how you get on.
oh, and fyi, I've not put the purple slime textures in as I'm not happy with those yet, feel free to yourself if you wish. and the weapons sprites are deliberately the old ones to match the weapon pack...
screenies! (without textures on) as you can see above it works well with nash's gore mod too! still not corrected all blood colours for the sod lost episode monsters yet though...

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
no, just wanted to get it up to mac/atari jaguar standards for now...
thus: a bit closer to the original now...
oh and here's a red lamp for SOD: and I did this for a laugh too! based off of doomnukems latest kick lashed up with the hacx and duke3d kick sprites, designed to match the jaguar wolf3d sleeves.I was thinking this could make a nice altfire quick kick for the wolf weapons, but their code is a little confusing for me so I'll leave this to someone else should they fancy it! Its kinda pointless anyway as you have instant weapon switching in wolf3d so could switch to the knife and melee anyway so its no real loss...
still, I could make an alternative to the knife as a melee weapon in someones mod or something so I figured I'd post it anyway...

I'm sure he will, hell this is supposed to be his thread! I've kinda taken it over I sure hope he doesn't mindCaptain J wrote:you're sure improving so good rather then me, i hope AFdoomer see this.
piss-artist more like LOL! no seriously thanks!Ghostbreed wrote:I second this, you're an artist
here's another spritelydoodle for the pak: this one demonstrates something I'm working on. the shadows.
no, nothing to do with Hank Marvin, Its just that the shadows on all the mac sprites are brown but the wolf 3d originals are grey. so, to better match the originals and blend into the grey floors better I've re-coloured them all... so new update of the pack soon...
also just noticed that the white column uses the sod brown one in highres pack and not a white one! this simply won't do so I've made this one for the original wolf maps! LOL

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
I've encountered the same problem since revision 108 (I think) This is with fresh up-to-date downloads of Zdoom and GZdoom.Bitterman wrote:Could be something obvious that I'm missing, but I always get a fatal error when running the TC:

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
The error occurs using GZdoom (1.8.2) and/or zdoom (2.7.1).

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
do you mean a Dev build of the sourceport? I've been trying to use the latest build (110) of the wolf3dTC, to no avail.
