i'd think that most gameplay mods are made to work with every commercial Doom game there is, but most mods seems to be geared more towards Doom 2, because custom graphics and music tends to only replace stock Doom 2 music (which would also apply to Final Doom games), but not the first Doom.

that's what i felt after research, of course it's able to run with both of 'em. but it seems only standard to doom 2, because of doom 2 music replacements, what you said.

Uh...I think he was asking, is it designed for Doom 1 or 2? And I think this is a valid question to bump the thread for.
Actually, I was asking about the maps .pk3 that is also available for download. Something of which I thought I made clear, but apparently not. Ah well.

EDIT: Princess Viscra Maelstrom has answered my question, I guess.

I figured English wasn't your first language. It's perfectly alright. :) Misunderstandings happen. No harm done.

so, it's probably a bad idea of me to bump this topic, but i wasn't expecting myself to get into the huge Metroid phase i'm currently in. i was just wondering a few things regarding some items in the game. what item is being replaced with the Space Jump Boots? i never seemed to find the thing no matter what. and how do you enable the Doom cannon, unless it was never featured in a public beta? and lastly, is this project going to see some more light soon, or is your attention mostly focused on Push and Demonsteele?

1: It replaces the allmap.
2: If you're playing on Zandro, the command is metroid_doomcannon 1, if you're playing on GZDoom, the options are in...well, the Options, haha.
3: Probably not. The big push people almost unanimously told me this needed its own enemies and levels, neither of which I can do. I'm happy with how things came out as it is, and it's taught me a lot for my next releases.

where in the options? none of the Dreadnought Options explicitly says to bring in the Doom Cannon. unless i have to tick the Zandronum weapons option for it?

Sorry, the option is "heroes live eternal".

It's intentionally worded vaguely since it's supposed to be a "secret". :p

Since this was bumped, I have a question: what happened to beam stacking? That was going to be a thing, right?

That was coded by ijon, who is unfortunately no longer a part of the Doom scene.

So, the thread's just gonna get locked, then? Fair enough.
