Re: Metroid: Dreadnought v1 - The Galaxy is Doomed
Doesn't even start on ZDoom.
Before I forget: the error is related to scripts ZDoom can't understand. Also, you forgot to mention the IWAD file needed and you really need to consider testing on Software mode, because the Power Bomb and Chroma Gun causes framerate to take a nose dive.

As was said in the Important Notes section, please update your ZDoom.tsukiyomaru0 wrote:Doesn't even start on ZDoom. Before I forget: the error is related to scripts ZDoom can't understand.
Ah, yes, thank you. It works on Doom or Doom 2, hence the demons in the gameplay trailer.tsukiyomaru0 wrote:Also, you forgot to mention the IWAD file needed and you really need to consider testing on Software mode, because the Power Bomb and Chroma Gun causes framerate to take a nose dive.
And I did test on Software, numerous times! If you're having framerate issues, please consider using metroid_cl_noeffects 1 to smooth things out a bit.

I primarily do my Doom in GZDoom, though like you said in your OP, Dreadnought is primarily designed for Zandronum. Will I encounter any significant issues if I play in GZDoom?

Re: Metroid: Dreadnought v1 - The Galaxy is Doomed
You will need to use the most recent SVN for GZDoom, please, otherwise you will encounter script/SBarInfo errors.
Aside from that, I don't believe there'll be any significant issues--mostly minor little tweaks and quibbles, like the chasecam for the morph ball being extremely loose, the pickup resetting the music rather than pausing it, Boost Ball's trails animating weirdly, mostly just visual/aesthetic issues.
If anything more than that pops up, those are definitely unexpected, and please let me know about them.

Awesome work on that metroid prime hunters map! I really like it, and i'd love to see more MPH maps recreated
Btw could you add my name in the credits for the samus morphball sprites ?
Also, can i try to map something for this mod?
I'd love to recreate Alinos Gateway

It was my favourite MPH map

Been waiting eagerly for this! Congrats on the first official release!

Now that works. One thing to bug me is the lack of SP maps for itself, depending on other SP maps. And there are things missing, by the way. Startup on ZDoom without Skulltag Actors

They're completely different from the ones you made, actually.Batandy wrote:Btw could you add my name in the credits for the samus morphball sprites ?

Tell you what, though, since you did awesome work on the player skin and they were used in alpha...I'll credit you anyway!

Sure thing! I'd love to see more MPH maps in this, that game had one hell of a cult following and it'd be awesome to let people relive it again--especially now that the servers are down.Batandy wrote:Also, can i try to map something for this mod?

where'd those Space Pirates in the gameplay trailer come from?
