Oh my...

It's awesome that you dedicated time to make Project MSX work with all the other Doom engine based games, something that probably I would have never done myself.

Also, I received your PM and I will test this baby out to see how it goes.

New version is out:

Changelog (Version 12.11.13):

-Monster health for Heretic nerfed significantly. Easy difficulty now sets the monsterhealth property in MAPINFO to 2.5 rather than 3.0, and successive difficulties increase it by .25 for each. In the previous version, it topped out on Masochist at 6.5, now it's just 3.75.

-Monster health for Hexen nerfed as well, though to a lesser degree.

-Damage taken in both Heretic & Hexen has been buffed. In the previous version, it started out on Easy at 0.75; now it starts at 1.25 and increases by .25 with each difficulty. Masochist sets it to 2.5.

Not sure if there is another "known issues" post around here, but I will make a list of what I saw so far:

Heretic

1. The item pickup sounds are missing.
2. Golems (mummies) sometimes do not render properly, they spawn black and orange with basic coloring. (unless this is something you added, but I see no difference)
3. Pain flashes only appear in the middle of the screen as a 6 inch, horizontal light green-ish bar.
4. Shooting at the feet of Golems with a pistol will rarely cause them to fly to the ceiling.
5. Taking damage makes the item activation sound.
6. Camouflage doesn't seem to work, I do fade, but enemies see me at any range and fire at me 100% accurately.
7. Grenades disappear when landing in water (I really hate this).
8. No item activation indicator is present, other than changing the color of my screen
9. Fire Imps have waaay too much HP, they should only be 10% stronger than the regulars.
10. Knockback ratios are way too high, especially on the explosives. They should all only be about 1/3 a the most of what it is now.
11. Slot 3 weapon sucks in Heretic on the higher settings, I hope the 0.2C version fixes this later down the road...

Hexen:

1. The open door sound of a mechanical door is constantly looping at 0:01 of the sound throughout the game. (this is extremely annoying )
2. Windows cannot shatter, this makes you have to cheat to progress.
3. Doors cannot be opened, this makes you have to cheat to progress.
4. Afrit variants cannot be damaged.

I pretty much had to quit Hexen because it just wasn't playable. Heretic just needs some adjustments other that it is fine.

Works for me. Don't know what to suggest but I had a few romps around Winnowing Hall and I could open all the doors and break all the windows not to mention I killed all the Afrits.

Don't tell me fkin GZDoom updated recently...

EDIT: Nope, it's up to date, and there is no other way of loading the MOD, so I know that is correct too. I looked through the menu settings, and everything is where it should be, I don't get it...

I'll get on to fixing these.

Intentional. It's supposed to be a lava golem.
3. Pain flashes only appear in the middle of the screen as a 6 inch, horizontal light green-ish bar.
Whaa? Is anyone else getting this?
4. Shooting at the feet of Golems with a pistol will rarely cause them to fly to the ceiling.
Never had that happen. Maybe this is an issue of Mass being too low; I know the grenades throw enemies around like foam packing peanuts, as you mention in point 10:
10. Knockback ratios are way too high, especially on the explosives. They should all only be about 1/3 a the most of what it is now.
6. Camouflage doesn't seem to work, I do fade, but enemies see me at any range and fire at me 100% accurately.
Strange. I'll take a look at this.
7. Grenades disappear when landing in water (I really hate this).
I'll change this. Grenades did do that in MSX, but Heretic makes more use of water, so I suppose it's warranted.
8. No item activation indicator is present, other than changing the color of my screen.
Lemme look at the item activation scripts; I'm sure I copied them but just switched the screen flash. Maybe something is missing?
Hexen:
1. The open door sound of a mechanical door is constantly looping at 0:01 of the sound throughout the game. (this is extremely annoying )
Is anyone else getting this? As I said, no sound on my computer.
2. Windows cannot shatter, this makes you have to cheat to progress.
3. Doors cannot be opened, this makes you have to cheat to progress.
These issues I have definitely not run into. It's not an issue of your GZdoom version being out of date either, because mine's not the latest and greatest.
4. Afrit variants cannot be damaged.
Was it all types, or one in particular?

Thank you for posting these issues, Valherran!

All Afrits except the normal ones.

What does the Lava Golem do differently than the normal Golem? The many times I found it, all it did was exactly what the normal one does.

I can confirm. Seems to be a problem with widescreen resolutions.

5. Taking damage makes the item activation sound.
These two seem to be connected; perhaps due to Heretic/Hexen/Strife having defined item activation sounds (this is more noticeable in Hexen), you will hear a constant low "hum" which is actually the item activation sound being played repeatedly at a very high rate. Taking damage interrupts this cycle so that the item sound can actually play. The item pickup sounds are "missing" because the item activation sounds take the same channel and are interrupting them.

This seems very likely to be the cause. I've had experience with the shields causing these sorts of problems before.

There's a bug in the map Heretic E2M8: The Portals of Chaos, minotaurs do not appear, and it is impossible to pass the level due to this.
I tested with another mod and run normally.

Hm. Well, at least that's sorted out. So what would be the best way to go about fixing this?

RIght. I'll get that fixed.

So to ask could I use some of the ammo pickups and items for legacy of strife? I'll be more specific when I have the file at my disposal (I hate having no internet so fucking much)...

The ones I made based based on the large power cell ammo pickup? Sure.
