ShadesMaster, I'm not sure if I need to point this out, but there IS no zip linked here. Both download links are for Despair.pk3. There is no mapset linked.

Nope, no levels here and no .zip file. Why don't you just put the map wad in the pk3? (G)Zdoom should load it up automatically.

First of all, great job, I haven't downloaded the latest version yet but what i have seen so far is very nice. Great level design, not overly detailed but just the right amount. In some spots i was out of ammo but im just a trigger happy person.
Always nice to see Heretic levels being released, game needs more love .

Re: DESPAIR - for Heretic!
I've just played through this for the second time and I really love it. I like the new enemies and the choice of textures. It's a really nice balance of old and new.
Often, I find that Heretic map packs tend to have too many enemies. They're just bullet sponges and it lends most maps an almost slaughtermap feel. You've avoided that and I think that's a good thing. The original Heretic wasn't totally filled with baddies. There were some key hunts and exploring and I think you've captured the balance well.
The only nitpick I have is that the brightmaps for the switches in GZDoom don't glow. I'm so used to that feature now that it's a little off-putting here. I'm not always sure if I've hit the switch or not! That's not a fault, it's just, like I said, a nitpick.
All in all, great stuff. I just wish there was more of it!
