ZHalloween [is this even still being worked on?!]

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

Errrgggg....I'm not dead I swear. I just decided to take up college as a full time activity and sort of dropped the ball here. I want to say that I would be able to finish this, but I am confirmed now (despite having been told this many many times :P) that I won't finish it on my own. If anything there is still a ton I want to do with the wad, but for it to come out completely furnished someone else would have to take the reins.

Any takers? :P This isn't me giving the project over completely, since I do still want to work on it, but this does need a new leader.

How many years has this been in production? I remember this thread being here when I first registered, and that was 4 years ago! How hard is it to put out a simple holiday themed wad? The entire purpose of a wad like this is to be played one time of the year. It doesn't have to be epic, it could easily be a set of levels with Halloween themed monsters and textures.

Or there are some not-yet-known epic features :D
Although yeah. Time does fly, I'd be quite sad to see this get delayed for another year.

Well, the thing here (I think) is that it actually was supossed to be truly epic. I guess epicness takes years to make though :P

I don't think a mod that you're only going to play once a year, if that, should be that epic.

Well... if you're only going to play it once, it should be epic. So that you remember it fondly for a while to come....

But all of those weren't themed around a specific holiday. :p Making something epic out of a brief holiday is missing the point to me, but I don't really mind if this takes another 4 years since it's not my project.

Will five be the magic number? Will this project finally be completed this Halloween?

In a battle between Shores of Zdoom and ZHalloween, Mordeth Ep 2 wins. :P
[/lame converted joke]

On a more serious and less meme-ish note, who knows. On one hand, though, an actual preview of ZHalloween's been released, and, far as I know, not too much has been leaked out of Shores of Zdoom. That might mean ZHalloween could come out sooner.

On the other hand, for all I know, Shores of Zdoom might have a more consistent development schedule while ZHalloween's in development hell.

Who knows. I'll look forward to both whenever they're released.
