SLADE3 - PNG to Planar (Hexen) option "isn't" there

Post by Xeotroid »

Hi, I've got a little problem. I'm making my map pack, and I was looking for something "small but nice", and I've got an idea of using startup screens, not like console in regular (G)ZDoom, but a nice progress like in Hexen or Strife. So I made this picture (640x480 16-bit (indexed) .png file) and I wanted it to convert it to Planar format lump. SLADE is only program that can do this, but o-oh, when I opened Convert to... window, there wasn't the Planar format selection, but rest was there:
Image
(Taken from thread about implementation of better startup screens).

I tried to use stable SLADE release from official site and the latest SVN build (r1419)
Well, I tried to convert it at least to Doom format, but when I open my mod with it, it just shows the regular red-on-gray console startup...

Nowhere in the thread I little mentioned above is wrote about this problem.

Here's my startup picture (it's just a 'test', it's not final, of course), it's 16 colors (indexed), 640x480 and 8-bit (yeah, I know it has to be 4-bit, but Photoshop doesn't let me change it to 4-bit picture, even though it's forced to use 16 colors only):

Thanks in advance for your help

The option is hidden.

Edit -> Preferences -> Graphics -> check the "Offer additional conversion options" tickbox.

Then OK, and try converting again.

There isn't this option in stable release, and SVN Build crashes every time I click OK or Apply (It opens Script editor and then crashes). I was looking for some kind of config file, and I didn't find one, is there any way to turn the option on without having to using the classic dialog?

EDIT: And it also crashes in a weird way so it doesn't do anything with Debug Database (.pdb file)

The latest official beta release is super old. I don't remember what features it had or not.

I don't see why or how the script editor would open when using the preferences panel.

The configuration file is in %APPDATA%\SLADE3 on Windows systems.

Thank you! You helped me a lot. :)
By the way, the config file didn't want to actualize after opening the SVN Build (so there was very little VARs), so I deleted it, and guess what it did -- SVN build doesn't crash, now! :)

I looked back to the original thread about MAPINFO lump and custom startup screens, and in your post was this:
