[Stopped for now] DN Brutal Doom Pack

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

Hellser speaks the truth – as much as me and Doom adore Brutal Doom, I can say that working on your own assets is a way to go. I also can say that using someone’s work as a base can be good learning practice, as that’s probably where majority of modders, including myself, started like this. But if one has an edge on some aspect of the modding already, he should try doing his own thing. There’s still plentiful of areas to cover where someone has never been before, ooor such ones that can still be explored to some degree.

Now, to answer your question - where did all of the Doom’s magnificient work went to, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to tease you guys a bit, as the atmosphere starts to be as thick as thermobaric explosion smoke. With Doom’s blessing, I show you this, from his hellish factory of stylish guns!:

To sum up we aim for cheese, badass, apocalyptic and over-the-top factors. As of the crew behind the mod’s cogs, it’s me, DoomNukem, and we also recently got KeksDose on board. More info to come soon, as we’re about to release a teaser, and make a topic on the forum. Stay tuned!

The old resources are not forgotten however; I've been doing a small mod using the original centered-perspective guns from the BD version. (I have no idea what I'll do for the three weapons that do not have graphics, though...)

Spoiler:
Now, is that enough Brutal Doom mods, or do I need to go past Page 30 in the Project Thread?

Brutal Doom isn't the "be all and end all" mod, folks! No, I'm not jealous over Corporal_Richard_MKIII's "success". I do know how to code, as suggested by Genesis Saga: Aurora (and GS is older than Brutal Doom). But imagine the potential of the folks who created those mods in that spoiler if they were to create their own mod. Maybe a horror-like mod? Or maybe a fun, awesome rocket-jumping esque mod like Cyberrunner? Attempting to grab attention to your mod over Brutal Doom's success isn't the way to go. Even Corporal_Richard_MKIII realizes this with his Chex, Heretic and HeXeN mods that were eventually locked.

I am, for one, happy DoomNukem has moved his creative potential to another mod. This is great! I would love to see what he creates. Infact, I'm a little excited. A run and gun mod? Maybe something like Hideous Destructor? We'll just have to wait and find out. So stop asking him to continue this! He might just as well do so after he's done creating his new mod, or just give up on it because Brutal Doom has turned from Chocolate Milk to Questionable Brown chunky liquid in a bottle and oh god it moved.

Back to the point: Be creative! Make mistakes! Get messy!

i was reading someone in the project thread about a dude who wanted to make a zombie mod like a huge city and at first youre scavenging and then they start appearing and you gotta take em out and stuff. and ive been sitting here playing DAWN OF REALITY (it has totally been in the way of me finishing my mod) like "if someone made this level a survival horror game...itd be amazing) and if you know how to code we should really do it. like all we would have to do is go through and delete all the zombies placed...put some random spawners in it, maybe make zombies that didnt have weapons at first and slowly spawned into bigger gnarlier awesomer things...and we would have a real awesome good time on our hands. i would really love to play that game.

I do hope you guys see if you can get amv2k9 to help make said badass-ness be transferable to most (if not all) of the supported iWads, because it'd be a shame if D'spirl doesn't have the opportunity to see the business end of those awesome-looking revolvers.

Ok, I'm new so don''t blame me. But of all the weapon, I only enjoy the Assault Rilfe skin. So how can I add only the Assault skin without affecting the rest of Brutal Doom?

Open the .pk3 file with Winrar and delete everything besides the folder SPRITES. Then open SPRITES and delete all the folders besides RIFLE. All done.

This would go perfectly with the double-barreled shotty from Psychic.

Bitterman wrote:This project is truly amazing. Such a set of new sprites is refreshing, since resources for Doom are a little finite (personally). A suggestion: it would be way cooler if the pump shotgun was one-handed, you'd fire it with one hand, lift it, magically cock it, and ready to fire. Like in action movies or something. I dunno what you could do with spare hand, maybe wield a chainsaw like in Army of Darkness.
FREAKIN' YESS! I would love this!

I normally dont say this, but...

Dont quit this project. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND quitting this project.

This can be a valueable asset for weapon wad enthusiasts. Please continue.

DoomNukem is currently busy putting his considerable skills to use in two other mods; PillowBlaster and KeksDose's The Trailblazer, and my own Accessories to Murder.
