Got a cool project idea but nothing else? Put it in the project ideas thread instead!
Projects for any Doom-based engine (especially 3DGE) are perfectly acceptable here too.
Please read the full rules for more details.

@Project Dark Fox
I think that hud detail is over-whelming, but then again, I had played some mech simulation games before. It's almost like System Shock 1's inventory screen. Will there be a tutorial or manual to explain the basics of the hud?

What needs explaining aside from the bar in the middle of the health? The stat system has a tutorial for it ingame, last I saw.

The F1 HELP screen will go over what all the numbers mean. I'm constantly fiddling with it, but I like having a ton of information at my fingertips. There is also the fullscreen HUD which gives you the basics like health, armor and ammo.RV-007 wrote:@Project Dark Fox

EDIT: I am not sure if I will have an interactive tutorial or not.
Thank you for being a reader!Really glad that you are still working on this, I first read the comic a few years ago and I thought the idea of a TSAT doom mod was EPIC!
Keep up the good work and I can't wait until you finish it!
Last comic update was in April of 2012, and the last few updates weren't on the MFZ as it was. I am redoing the comic's format first chance I get, but don't expect any new strips for now.I thought you weren't doing it anymore since I haven't seen a update for TSAT on the website for a while now, but happy to see your still working on this! XD
As for the lack of updates here, I am mostly busy with other things, but when I get an opportunity, I try to finish up the maps I have, or do a little spriting. Progress is very slow, but I want to make sure this project is perfect.

It's still so bizarre seeing HUD weapon sprites left-aligned instead of centered. Should be interesting to play when this comes out!

Get used to it, it's not changing.Lava Grunt wrote:It's still so bizarre seeing HUD weapon sprites left-aligned instead of centered. Should be interesting to play when this comes out!
I held a poll on Treadhead about the weapon alignment thing, and Left-handed (for lore reasons; your PC is left-handed) overwhelmingly won.

Much attitude
Got a rough guestimate of when this will be out?

Can't tell if sarcasm/joke or not; been rather stressed out (as usual).Lava Grunt wrote:Wow, such sass

No, sorry. There's a lot of scripting in the game, so I will likely release it to a small group of beta testers before releasing the episode.Got a rough guestimate of when this will be out?
Yes, episode. I've only done minimal work beyond the demo.
EDIT: Please do not ask to be a beta tester at this time. I'll give the call for sign-ups.

It's only been 3 days since the last post. Be patient.

It did once. Then I rose it from the ashes like a phoenix one day. But there's still so much work to be done, and not enough time to do it in.thonglover wrote:i hope this mod didn't die...

You have been working on it for a while, you should take breaks every now and then.

This mod is NOT worked on more than I AM working on it. Trust me, I take plenty of "breaks".ChOcObOeAtEr1 wrote:You have been working on it for a while, you should take breaks every now and then.
If only because this just isn't my only project. I have a number of drawn projects going on as well (they are in fact higher priority), not to mention the full time job that eats up a lot of my time.

Re: [WIP/Alpha Soon] There's Something About Tails
So I have been resuming work on the mod, and hopefully to drum up my own interest on the mod, I have decided that I am going to put the game through another Closed Alpha session. I have been rewriting some of the oldest scripts in the mod (the introduction!) to be more user-friendly. I have a few more very serious bugs to fix and maybe finish some artwork before I release the mod to my closed alpha participants.
So, as I do that work, if you are interested in participating, and have some testing experience, please let me know. I'm probably going to select only two folks from here and a few others from other interested communities.
