btw is the mod going to have a huge arsenal ( 12+ weapons) or is it sticking to the doom 2 (8 guns,2 melee) arsenal ? :idea: :wub:

Sounds to me that Jake has stamina. At least last I knew about it. So it can be done at any point for a short time, and then just land to recover and fly again.

The entire arsenal hasn't been planned yet. The story at this time isn't even 100% fleshed out yet, and I've been adding weapons and features and the like as I go.
The demo will have only five weapons:
Your bare hands (which I plan to expand upon, it will require a lot more frames to draw)
Ryce-9 Pistol
CS-66 Berserker Shotgun (50% damage bonus when the target is within 5 feet)
M-78 Paladin Assault Rifle (burst fire, accurate when not held down)
M-79 Excalibur Pulse Rifle (recoil-free pulse laser rifle)

I'm not quite sure how big the arsenal will be, but there's about four more planned weapons (all need proper artwork), and still more if I get the time. An earlier concept piece pitched a triple-barreled sniper/support rifle with a camera scope that uses the same ammo as your pistol and M-78, and another was a double-tube rocket launcher that was vaguely similar to the Halo rocket launcher -- except both tubes fired and that it was lighter than it looked.

Limited. After about 8.5 seconds you have to land. The mechanic is similar to Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Unlike in Sonic 3, you need a few seconds to catch your breath if you want regained stamina. (And that you don't need to mash your flight key to keep flying.)

Page 100. However, details in the plotline change after that, to accommodate gameplay. I refuse to let this game ride the rails. There's too much potential for the player to "write his own story".

Like the multiple endings in the The Elder Scrolls series (e.g. TES: The Arena and TES: Daggerfall)?

A better comparison -- only because I've not played any of the Elder Scrolls games ever -- would be the first two Fallout games.

Experience gain and skill point spending are now in. Like in Deus Ex, you'll have a small deposit to start with, so that you're not completely helpless in the beginning; good thing, too, I'm about to nerf some weapons slightly because of this addition. This menu is activated with a keystroke at any time, but beware, the game will not wait for you. Do try to use this feature in a safe place or you're going to get waxed.

As of this post, Reloading is still not in, and weapon-based skills aren't actually coded into the weapons yet. The latter should be soon, as that doesn't require any additional art resources.

right now this mod looks awesome but in 2 to 3 months time it will be greater than perfect. :wub:

and what will be the maximum level for all the upgrades?

When you've played doom for a long time (I've only played it for four years but I've known it since I was a wee child when it came out) it just looks funkay.
For a start, Doomguy is left handed when shooting his pistol and punching, all other weapons are centred so moot point. secondly, any FPS where I have the option of choosing handed-ness since im left handed I always choose left.
