Indeed, but some monsters are beyond normal visual range, or their shots are so accurate and consistent, you'd be lucky to even get any precise shots in without getting riddled with bullet holes. I also didn't enjoy the fact that a rocket can kill me head on without me even seeing it until the last second, that wasn't a fun experience.

Actually I hadn't run the default configuration for either GZDoom or ZDoom in what may be a couple years at least, which is why I wasn't sure.
