Krazy Kate! Adventures of Light & Darkness

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

Make Kate kill yogurt/cereal mascots! Have a ride on a rainbow and MyLilPonis lead the way! Take back to the 1960s-1970s psychedelic stuff, lol.

Based on the mixed responses in the "What the HELL" kilothread, I hope the mod will be insanely hard on the higher difficulty settings. Nothing is better than a game where the foes own your ass.

There's exactly 4 skills provided: Simple, Difficult, Challenging, and Calamitous. They are exactly what is stated of them.

That said, if you want incredibly difficult, you want Calamitous, as it's pretty much self-explanatory. This difficulty pretty much brings out the final level enemies early in the game in all their horrifying glory, and (mini)bosses are corrupted to their fullest extent. To help out though, you'll also get early access to later weapons and ammunition (except the Rainbow Cannon, which you will still need to assemble!), and you're expected to use them wisely.

I find this entire project to be just adorable, between the art style, the concept of cubs to summon (bat cub! X3), even the title is cute! I'm loving it. And maybe I'm just more in-tune to stuff than some people, but I found the HUD to be perfectly intuitive -- it even does the same thing as my project by including a nice high-rez scoreicon of the player.

As for clashing in default Doom maps, I don't see it as a problem. Worlds collide == Fun! Besides, I bet it would blend in real nice in a more kiddie-themed Doom adventure like Chex Quest!

In short, it seems to me like things are going in a fine direction with this, so keep up the good work. And if you happen to need another alpha tester, I'd be honored to have a chance to poke around. :P

I've been sneakily looking at the videos and just caught wind of this thread (somehow), but everything shown so far looks really unique and amazing! I'll definitely keep an eye on this thread and what not. :D

I really love the music in this mod. Is it original or from a SNES game? :D

Bahahahaha YES the guy with an 8-bit Pikachu avatar is going to threaten you ON THE INTERNET. That is gold. Pure gold.

I mean, what's he going to do? Seriously. That is great. That is so excellent.

Ok, let me explain myself.

I was drunk. Okay? This is hilarious. I completely forgot I did this. An apology to Kins and anyone else I caused laughter to.

Okay, comments on this. This reminds me of Sonic Robo Blast 2. not in gameplay but in concept - Taking something that has never been done in a doom source port before and just doing it. Isle has been doing this for years. he even made a working video poker machine. that's as far from doom as you can possibly get. I can't hate on this. Not when Kins is around for me to hate on instead.

SO FEEL HATED ON

usually I stop at "sdowrjsapho dasohnasa" but somehow my spelling and grammar section of the brain hadn't been knocked out yet.

I have been laughing for the past 5 minutes at this.
