This appears if you press the Strife Popup Status key. Good way to get a view of your overall ammo load. (The gun icons and associated ammo numbers only appear if you actually have the guns in question.)

chronoteeth wrote:I think you should stay in tune with that sort of action movie appeal to it. AKs and Uzis, theres already a good revolver and the alformentioned beretta. Stuff like the MP5, lever action shotgun, or like an m16 with the grenade launcher, etc.

Just no "glock 8s" please, haha
agree with chronoteeth :P

Opinion: The box of grenades pickup should be much bigger than it currently is; as it is, it's too easy to mistake them for slightly different shotgun shells since they look virtually identical.

just finished trying for a copule of minutes  the very first beta and my hints:

1) decrease the m-60 recoil a bit

2) possible to have dual uzis?

3) a new uzi reload animation, like the original shadow warrior one?

4) the pic I quoted above shows actually an aksu:
Spoiler: AKSU
may I suggest to go for a an akm, with folding stock, like this:
Spoiler: AKM (with folding stock)

Might help if you put those in spoilers, as we all know what the AK74 / AK47 / AEK971 etc. variants look like.

Also too; the Shadow Warrior's uzi is very much over used, and I'm sure WildWeasel wants to step away from the overused weapons department.

Dual Uzis will also take over the M60's place.. as for the M60's recoil, I think it's just perfect. The M60 in real life is a very heavy weapon that fires heavy caliber rounds. Technically, it 'chugs' while it fires. But WildWeasel's attempt is rather nice.

Also, a slight complaint too, WW; the shells/casings ejecting from seemingly all weapons doesn't seem to have any distance to them -- making a perfect near circular line while firing full auto in one spot. May I suggest some random(#,#) to add a little 'depth' to the shells/casings as the gun ejects them?

Is it just me, or do shots fired land low and to the right of the crosshair?

That's really the only really noticeable bug I've found in a few minutes of playtesting.

done!

I don't wanna be annoying but if somebody cares: the M4 is a really underrated weapon in doom mods, most of time m-16 are featured.....so havin one would be great I think.
Spoiler: M4
or maybe even a FN-scar, I never saw one:
Spoiler: FN-SCAR

Maybe it is possible to use winpak to extract some graphic from certain sources, like soldier of fortune 2 that game featured an M4 in its arsenal

It's how (G)ZDooM handles projectiles being fired. It's on a X,Y position while firing, then given a random 'spread' to simulate a hitscan weapon (atleast how WW does it). This however, comes at a price of what you're explaining.

Weasel already explained how these weapons simply don't fit with the theme of this wad. Not sure why you're pushing this so hard.

Small issue with the Megasphere, right now it gives you Doom's blue armor instead of composite armor.

Great stuff so far, looks and plays really smooth. The only problem is finding levels and WADs that take full advantage of the theme. Also, the HUD seems to lack what keys you've picked up, or at least I can't see them.

They should appear in a bar just above where the health and armor are, if you have any.

The megasphere will eventually be replaced with a hostage that drops the equivalent of a Megasphere (that gives the ww-terror armor), similar to the current supercharge-bum and blursphere-lady.
niculinux wrote:1) decrease the m-60 recoil a bit
Have you tried steadying it with the Weapon Zoom button? This makes the recoil much more manageable but slows you down.
2) possible to have dual uzis?
If I can figure out a decent way to do what I want to do, there is a very, very remote possibility that I might actually consider this.
3) a new uzi reload animation, like the original shadow warrior one?
It's just not in the resources. I'd need to make a whole new graphic for that, and I don't want to do that, as I don't have access to whatever model or screenshot Necronnixus used.

It's technically both of those at once (thanks to the "copyright-free" names I gave all the guns). Use your imagination, I guess! =P

to hell!!

ok after some more intensive playing the m60 recoil is ok!

I've noticed that if I fire point blank with the grenade launcher the explosion won't hurt, but I guess it will be fized, right?

on second thought mabe the good ol pump action shotgun may find its way into the mod, changind a bit animations and sound (the original one I never liked !!! :x )

in the end, I am not exaggerate: I think this is one of the best doom mods ever, it' one of the few "contemporary themed", that missed in the universe of doom mods :P

one more: weapons are final? I mean: no more of them eill be added? I don't know if wildweasel might consider to use the AR-10 modified by Neccronix.

For black weapons, besides the taser, Ithink it's room for fists or even bette, some karate moves YHAA!

and a dot crosshair in the aiming view using the sniper mode with the sniper rifle :?:

the sound is great, on par with ww-nazis2

the damage mad by the "green enemy thing fliying" (?????) (it shoots rockets, right) is rdicolus...it is suppose to kill with 1 or 2 shots, so that is another thing to fix. And please, make taht if it explodes will hurt the player
