I gave this mod a test and I'm gonna give it a 9.5 out of 10.

(Pros)
-Good Gunplay
-No Cliche resources used
-Names for the weapons reference the RL counterparts
-And the bobbing is unique.

Can confirm that this mod is really good with the Going Down map set, even if super hard (as someone else stated). Part of the reason is because there are no enemy idle sounds and a lot of Going Down's maps have tight turns and small rooms. So there will be a big group of silent dudes around a corner, and you'll get a face full of bullets because you had no idea they were there. Still worth the challenge! Great looking weapons, as well. Nothing irks me more than when a mod has ugly weapons :) Thanks to the author - nearly 10 years after release, too!

Forgive me for the bump but I had multiple questions about this, and asking for permission from wildweasel if I could try to work it together myself on my own time:

1: Is it possible to patch this into just a simple monster replacement with none of the custom inventory items and other mechanics at play? (For compatibility with other gameplay mods that replace inventory)
2: With the current modern GZDoom is it possible to make the bullet tracers something more 3D-ish? Like actual lines rather than just really fast yellow dot trails done with the classic particle system.

I hope it's okay of me to ask this...!

1. You probably could? But there's a lot of stuff that would need to be altered or rebalanced to suit, since the "armor" system (for example) doesn't respect anything but the built-in weapons, and giving regular human enemies really high HP values never really sat well with me.

2. Again, you probably could? This one, though, is more down to me being lazy.

I can probably figure something solid eventually, might decide on making the enemies as resilient as a standard player wearing blue armour against vanilla weapons.

I was kind inspired by the effects Marisa made for her mods, but a part of me wants to somehow do the "line system" that LithTech 1 used which looked so silly and would be fun to create as a effect for GZDoom for these kind of fast projectile replacements for traditional hitscan attacks.

This is one of my all-time favorites. I often come back to it for a good time.
