Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
I know it has been at least 2 months since I've posted in my thread to come to a conclusion no Evilution version will be made and the standard version will be unsupported as since moving to the hardcore variant and focusing on that (mainly because I don't want to edit 2 different WADs).
Once again I am slacking on adding any more to the two games but not only because of other games, but from experimenting with a new map using 32 grid for architecture and 16 and 8 for smaller details.

Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
One last detail, I will be planning the finale of Brutalization by announcing "Overkill" edition, pushing one's skills and as far I can push Brutal Doom before making maps too slow to play because of so many monsters. I will make sure of that with my playtesting.

But I like lots of monsters...Mr. Chris wrote:One last detail, I will be planning the finale of Brutalization by announcing "Overkill" edition, pushing one's skills and as far I can push Brutal Doom before making maps too slow to play because of so many monsters. EDIT:
*HUFF PUFF* I just beat the Doom 2 levels on Black Metal difficulty, and holy crap was that hard... XD

@Valherran: Record some videos of your feats!
Updated optional Brutal music WADs, especially Ultimate Doom version. Changed some tunes so not all are from the D2 version.

Wish I could, every time I try it lags too much for me to do anything. Eventually when I get out of Korea I may try again on a better PC.

Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
I found a glaring error involving E1M4's blue door not opening (due to split sector and not using S1, used D1) which I have fixed, I thought I would able to get away with light shining through the door but I guess not.
First post link has been edited for fixed file.
Also, a teaser video for Brutalized Overkill has been put in the first post as well to see the average/approximate resistance you will expect.

I don't see much change in the Overkill one.

Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
Extra monsters where I could squeeze them in without fitting every inch of map space with them, particularly upper low and mid strength monsters. If you remember how tough MAP10 in Hardcore was, it's going to be worse.Ribo Zurai wrote:I don't see much change in the Overkill one.

Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
I'm having a crash issue when I run this mod with the Brutal Arsenal add-on when I'm hosting a server. They all work together as long as I'm playing offline, but if I run them all together on an online server I get a client crash as soon as I kill a monster after the round begins. Anyone know what might cause this?

Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
I don't use Brutal Arsenal and have never had a crash issue playing the altered maps so I suspect it's Brutal Arsenal...it's still young and still contains bugs and glitches.

Re: Brutalized Doom & Doom 2
Hello MR. Chirs!
It bums me to see that you have ultimately deceived to abandon making brutalized doom maps for TNT Eviloution. I do however understand that projects like these do indeed require motivation and enthusiasm to complete when you're creating them and providing them free of charge as a mod. TNT is my favorite commercial doom 2 wad, and I've played the crap out of it for many years.
But don't take this as a bad thing. I haven't even touched the vanilla Doom 1 and Doom 2 levels ever since I downloaded your brutalized versions. At time they prove to be very challenging, even with my personal health and armor regeneration mods. I find my self overwhelmed with enemy forces, and being killed relatively quickly. Not only are they great with Brutal Doom, but their also great with the many other mods I play along side it.
Thank you for creating an awesome map expansion pack, and making my doom experience not only more challenging, but more enjoyable.
