Very nice - I really like the new areas you added. ^^
What I think needs some improvement is gameplay at the beginning of the level, though; it's too much of "grab the first key, use that to get the second, use that to get the third". Admittedly, that's very much due to the original level's gameplay, but still...

An FTP client won't help you with hosting space... but I've used Seagull (its okay), SmartFTP (pretty good), and if your server supports it, WinSCP (secure, very good).Lexus Alyus wrote:I'veemailed it to Tormentor because I can't find a damn FTP place where I can remotely link my files. Does anybody know of any form of FTP client that is free and which I can use to share my files? It would make things so much easier.

Hehe, yeah, there's no real way to fix what ID did in the first place. Grabbing keys is just how E1M9 goes. I wonder... did you survive my tanks on the first go?arcticwolf wrote:Very nice - I really like the new areas you added. ^^

I'm not great at detail, but TUD should be able to add some nice stuff to it. The only problem with detailing my new section is the new detail can't obstruct the tank fire's path. This would make it too easy to completely get through there.Tormentor667 wrote:Ok, I played the latest version of E1M9 and here is my comment and suggestions:
The new added parts are interesting but a lot of detail is missing, also some E1 things should be added to the new rooms to make it look more Episode 1ish... well that's all about it, I like it

http://www.filesanywhere.com
USERNAME: Kirby
PASSWORD: smokey
Look on the left side and you'll see the list of folders and drives. Click on the drive called KIRBY and its there. All you have to do is right-click it and download it

Let me see how much You butchered my beatiful e1m4
EDIT: Ok, I played it
I'm glad that a lot areas' architecture evolved in such a nice way (like the sewage room before the exit). There are plenty of concepts in the new areas, I loved the lamp-filled hallways with their crazy lights!
The new areas need more detail IMO, especially slopes. The number of slopes in architecture is what differs most areas and makes it look like the map was made by 2 authors. That and something else. Kirby makes rooms with a lot of crazy angled walls (just like the original E1 had, which is good) however it is opposite to my "realistic" approach that has interior walls either straight or corners diagonal at 45. It makes a couple areas seem really different from others which is unfortunately odd and disturbing.
I hope the next person considers what I'm writing now as a matter of importance. Still the map is a really solid jobby and I can't resist to say that E1m4 grew into a very impressing map that can rival Moderns easily
Good work Kirb, but some I's need dots on top of them (Polish sentence meaning that something needs to be polished up to be a stand-out, not just good)
