[Project] "Knee-Deep in ZDoom"

How did I get that name into my head?

Anyway E1M8 is the first level with something that looks like it's from hell. I think it should be kept that way. The maps can be made harder by adding more monsters, making the areas more narrow and cutting down on health/ammo.

  • The 3 dark imps
    The Soul Harvester
    The Hell Warrior

    Hell's Fury

And yes we are modifying the original maps and this is why they maybe wont be in the archives. But I will talk to Ty personally on this subject if we don't get them in!
Mapping: When do we start? (given the timescale)

Monsters: I'll see what's in the resource wad, and maybe create some myself if needed. Super baron will be done. (btw: are we sticking to E1 weapons?)

Sounds: I was planning to use some of my LTSD/SSD sounds, which I think will fit nicely here.

Sorry Tormentor, i'm not interested at this time. :) I like the more hellish episodes, and like dochist said above, i'd participate in those areas seeing as it's my specialty. :D

However, I might play around with e1m8...I'll think about it. ;)

@DarkaRchon - Yes, looks good but as I have told, some humans are still missing, rocketeers, pistol variants, etc.

@UltimateDoomer - I have no idea when we are going to start, we just have to wait until all the resources are collected and until we have a full team! And yes, we are sticking to E1 weapons BUT I thought about replacing the Plasmagun and the BFG with some kind of E1 styled new weapons. What do you think? About the sounds: So you volunteer to do some AmbientSoundResources, yes? :)

Right... this is intresting stuff... I will volunteer for map 5 on the first week as nobody has taken that slot. I really want to push myself... ya see, I've done a naughty thing... i've baught an extra 512megs of DDr RAm (333 speed... that's what my processor is... plkus, it was cheaper ;)) and now I am about £5 from my overdrafyt limit... I have like 7 days before IU get paid (well, 6, I get paid on friday) I have a cheque for £15 that i will put in the bank tomorrow and that will take about 5 days to clear... I should get this memory on tuesday...

What this means is that I will have around 768megs of ram... this will mean that i can hopefully play Doom3 aaaaand... record full guitars and bass with no problems! You will never guess what I will ask next? I wanna do the whole sound track for this baby! Yeah, there will be elementrs of slight remixes in there (I'm definately going to use a variant of the guitar riff in E1m1...) but most of it will be completely original stuff with full guitars and stuff... I rreally want to push myself to do this, so, if it's okay with everyone? Sorry leha... but you know what a greedy musician I am :D.

As for mapping, yeah, that should be no prob. If we delay this for long enough then I should get an head start on making the music... if it uses guitars then it's going to sound AMAIZING! Think Quake 2 OST... only with morte ambience and synths :D. Also, the guitars will be a lot heaviewr and the whole thing will be far better produced... I promise ;).

I'd like to do something for this project but I don't think my mapping skills are good enough. Is there anything else I could do?

On the first page, it has a week one, week two, week three thing. Does that mean that there will be a week one where person A works off of id's level, a week two where person B works off of person A's work, and so on? Or is week one E1M1, week two E2M1 and so forth? At any rate, I'll take a slot in week one. I really don't care, so stick me with whatever one the other people don't want.
