D'oh. That's pretty obvious now.
Edited - is that more like what you mean?

Yes, though perhaps you could also enlarge the trigger guard a few pixels.

Re: [WIP] The Adventures of SQUARE (Monster teasers pg.7)
Much better.
Though that all said and done it does seem a bit strange for a double-barrel single-shot weapon (i.e. you don't chamber a new round from an attached magazine) to have ejection ports rather than break open... I'm sure there's a RL analogue but it seems unnecessarily complex...

As usual - everything different from the stock Doom art style gets a thumbs up from me
The last shot is great - I really like the cartoon art style in a darker tone.

I assume the yellow-red thing is the bolt? (Please tell me it is and that the projectile will be travelling in a visible arc.)

The arms(?) on the bow seem a little too small, but it looks cool otherwise.
It'd be rather cool to see a hypercube appear as a boss.

So I'm guessing its some sort of crossbow, but it shoots out 40mm grenade shells.

Re: [WIP] The Adventures of SQUARE (Some updated shots!)
Well, it's a cross between a crossbow and shotgun. A "shotbow", in other words.
The stock is actually a shotgun barrel cut in half so that the shell inside is exposed. The string then goes over the shell and releases it when the weapon is triggered.
Unfortunately the concept has proven to be a little wacky for me to figure out how the darn thing is going to work beyond that.
It would be silly to launch the shell casing since that's not the thing that does the damage. (My brother has since pointed out that the shell is actually facing the wrong way.
) I'll probably just have the casing fly away and the string appear to launch the actual shot. I know it makes no sense at all.

Re: [WIP] The Adventures of SQUARE (Some updated shots!)
Finished. Phew. Took me virtually all day, but it was worth it. My brother actually knows a bit more about ballistics than I was ever aware. He helped me out a ton with figuring out the (stupid) logistics of this weapon. Sprites took me almost forever, mainly because I neglected to use a program that could handle individual layers for too long.

From a realistic standpoint, that weapon is just ridiculous. But that's also why I find it hilarious and immediately lovable.
