Yeah, I'm concerned about the brick too, I want it to look like brick but I don't like the dithering being so extreme. Going to work on it.

And as far as the hell levels... hehehehehe.

FYI, this project isn't dead, but I've been slammed with a major depression and some work related issues. So I haven't had the time or drive, but I will finish it eventually.

Dude, there's no rush. Doom 2's been without a map for 20 years. It can afford to wait a little longer.

Don't you hate it when someone suddenly shows up, changes everything you know, and expects you to deal with it?

Yeah, me too.

Looking fine! Is it purely a render or did you base it on some aerial photography?

I got the idea to use the aerial photography when I discovered Google Maps had a 45 degree slant option when zoomed in. This is actually a collection of edited photos from the Chattanooga area, where I live. Outside of three of these buildings I have no idea what any of this stuff is supposed to be.

- The location in the very upper left, above "Courtyard" is a gigantic million dollar church about 10 minutes away from me.
- The groups of houses in the lower left ("Tenements") is the Grove Street Projects.
- The building all the way in the upper right is the Chattanooga headquarters of TVA.

If you were to follow this process, try looking for the location of id software's emblematic black building and try your best at putting it in that style

Well, by judging this well-documented post I luckily found, the Black Cube seems to be located here

Due to the text getting in the way, I moved Courtyard, Citadel, and Gotcha down lower to different areas but didn't change the map and reanimated part of it. I'm now fighting with the system the way it's set up, trying to get the damn midis to change in between maps. Since the Starport and the City are two different maps, I want the Starport to be the last thing you see before you move on to the City so it has the same music. However, I wanted to use a different tune for each section because hey, why not?

The later half of Hell is partially done but I'm fighting with coming up with a way of doing the first half easily enough. And I've got a few nasty surprises up my sleeve regarding things the map will do when you get to the Hell levels, mainly that since they're actually Hell and not just "We made this place more Hell-ish" like in the other areas (or so we're led to believe) they're not going to work on such silly human ideals as "logic." I got some amazing ideas I think. Expect cool stuff, hopefully.

Don't know who told you to fuck off, but for the record, a lack of replies should not be interpreted as a negative response, it should be instead seen as what it is: a lack of replies. There's no real connotations to it, the thread just slowed down, man. Still, if you want to go, I'm just some lowly scrublord and there's a good chance I can't stop you. So happy trails to you, man. Kind of a bummer you don't seem to be leaving the files behind for some other enterprising person to work with, though.
