Non-techbase/hellish wads?

Post by Echelon5 »

I've been looking for unique, non-techbase/hellish/techbasehellish maps for a while and I've only uncovered a few, such as Epic. The egyptian theme is so cool. Any suggestions for similar wads that have unique settings? I'm also playing with a wad that has a lot of magical and old fashioned weaponry so they really clash with standard Doom tech maps.

Scythe 2 and Alien Vendetta have a bunch of unique settings. Both have medieval maps and Egyptian maps, while Scythe 2 also has jungle maps.

I wouldn't consider medieval weapons to clash with hellish maps, though, especially not the kind Scythe 2 or Deus Vult 2 has.

I'll give those a try, thanks. Anybody got any more suggestions?

The Cheogsh series is excellent if you want something difficult. I think it sticks to vanilla weapons but it has some custom monsters that might clash with your mod.

Deus Vult II, Speed of Doom, Sunder (which performs better as a test for mods than as a levelset). There's a whole ton out there; you just need to find them.
