Personally, I loved KDiZD, except for the final boss, which I SWEAR required cheating to win.
Having the next episode "modernized" would be great too! It's neat to see all the things people can make DooM do. These projects tend to be labors of love, though, so I don't expect anything anytime soon, but will simply wait and hope.

the final boss was IMO easier than the previous encounters that led up to it; destroying those floating cubes while fending off small mooks, and the Bruiser Brothers battle, particularly for both being very cramped areas. the last one's only real difficulty was that it kept spamming Lost Souls all over the place, which was fecking annoying. due to the circular shape of the arena, you could circle-strafe all around it and kill it with the Rifle.

Indeed, the very final boss of KDiZD was easy in comparission with the 2 Bruiser Brothers battle, the rifle makes the battle very easy if you got a lot of bullets, damn that weapon was powerful

Re: [WIP] The Shores of Zdoom
I imagine the boss was weakened on purpose under the assumption that not everyone would find the rifle on their first playthrough. I mean, it's located in a secret level, after all.
Still doesn't excuse the overpowered nature of the Bruisers though...I had to quickload that fight about 30 times.

bruisers for me? nah...with shotguns and rifles, then it's done to me. i just found that rifle easily too. i'm good at boss fights though, but not marsh carnages.
you know, i'm always kill those knights or barons easily, but if marsh of weak monsters come after me, i'm getting weaker. even i always died while playing serious sam though, but not boss fights.
i just hope shores of zdoom presenting a tougher boss to all of us...not rage quiting or something. just for challengable gameplays.

It's on the back burner, most of the team members have a bunch of other smaller-scale projects they are working on.KingShinra wrote:If I may...
Is TSoZD in development hell, or is it being continued on bit by bit? Even if the final product is "imperfect", it will be perfect in the sense that it was complete. If you guys need an extra man, I'd love to jump on to improve on level detailing.
Even if not, I would strongly encourage completion of TSoZD, if for any other reason, simply to achieve it's completion. The people will still desire ZInferno / Infernal ZDoom / ZDoomferno / Episode 3 remake / etc...
Finish what has begun. (I'm a simple kind of guy, so I found KDiZD to be TOTAL AWESOME, and I'll definitely find TSoZD, flawed or not, TOTALLY AWESOME. Even the greatest masterpieces have flaws. Go for it!)

Boy I sure do know how that feels, you sidetrack so much that you end up spending more time having projects on hold than actually working on them.Marnetmar wrote:It's on the back burner, most of the team members have a bunch of other smaller-scale projects they are working on.

It's way too much pointless bumping all over, and it makes me mad, because I want updates. PLEASE, moderators, lock this thread!!

Re: [WIP] The Shores of Zdoom
Why? The project might not be getting updates, but there's a legit discussion going in here that isn't just people demanding to know where the updates are.Captain J wrote:wildweasel's wrath thunder spell of the ban in every thread always works. god or weasel, do this!

Re: [WIP] The Shores of Zdoom
It's interesting that, across many forums, there are often users asking for threads to be locked despite most of the forums I visit having a policy of not locking threads unless really necessary. The reasons given for the requests vary but usually boil down to a fairly selfish "I'm finished with this thread" or "I don't want to see this thread any more" kind of reason regardless of whether other people are finished with it or not.

Indeed -- it really weirds me out that folks suggest it that often. Is this really standard practice on other forumspaces? That's a sad.

Re: [WIP] The Shores of Zdoom
The forum thread is supposed to be a place where people can disuss the project and where updates get published when there are any.
...just don't forget the former part.
