Re: Doom: Evil Unleashed -- Continued
There will be two lost souls? Does this apply to other enemies, will there be other variations?

Re: Doom: Evil Unleashed -- Continued
At the time, there's just the Beta Lost Soul replacing the finished version's one.

Yeah, I'm just a new user. And also I put 94 because it's not my year of birth, it's my little brother's.hfc2x wrote:allan94 wrote:Also when I extracted sodaholic's alpha pk3 I found some very interesting sprites.
I don't understand... Are you trolling me, or are you a new user? I used that file as a base, so I know everything it contains. And no, there aren't many interesting sprites. Check Alpha 0.2 and 0.4 WAD files, and there ARE very interesting things.
I was thinking something like that, because I cannot decide yet how to include the Pistol/Rifle, so I'm currently open to ideas.allan94 wrote:I think it should start with nothing and then in the room with the dead marines you find a rifle and a pistol.
Dude, I'm not meaning to offend, but YOU write like a 12 years old. Plus, your username has 94, which for some reason suggests me your year of birth...allan94 wrote:This was my 12 year old son's idea,so how does his idea sound?
Also, learn how to quote properly.
No, the user will be free to choose, so they don't hate me for acting like a dictatorallan94 wrote:I think you should stick with the helmet HUD.
I already did that in the past, but it causes a few aesthetic problems, as you cannot see your currently selected weapon, and in some resolution modes, the letters of the default ZDoom fullscreen hud can be seen under the Helmet graphics, so I think having an option in the menu to choose between the two was the best idea yet ([wiki]MENUDEF[/wiki]). The only problem is that you have to include a new CVAR into your zdoom.ini, but it will come with a first-time-launcher.Xaser wrote:Make one the fullscreen HUD, and another the status bar HUD. Why choose?

I don't like how the full hud is rapping the weapon sprite. What about taking that thing in the middle a few pixels down? Something like this:

That works a lot better. I dunno, still like alternate one too for a sort of old school DOS game aesthetic.

Eh, I'd say keep the helmet hud as-is and leave the toggle option. That'll give people a choice if it's in the way.

There's not one on the first post; I assume that means it's not finished to the point of being downloadable yet.MidnightTH wrote:Is there a Download link?

You know, I suggest that you add automap asteroids.

Re: Doom: Evil Unleashed -- Continued
Far easier said than done; the original code was never completed and is likely no longer part of ZDoom's codebase. This completely ignores the idea that you'd have to edit and compile a fork version of ZDoom just to add a silly easter egg feature.allan94 wrote:You know, I suggest that you add automap asteroids.

Re: Doom: Evil Unleashed -- Continued
Suddenly it becomes painfully clear why no "Alpha" Doom mods ever see completion. Requests for silly shit like that mounting up.

Well I honestly hope you finish this, cause this project has a hell of a lot of potential for being great.

Speaking of auto maps, are you going to add the minimap thing from the alpha?
