Except this project is not meant to "fuse the worlds". It's meant to be the Doom Bible, and nothing more.

You seem to be fond of mod "crossovers" or "fusions". But you seem to fail to realize that it is simply not the aim of the project.

No not really, I'm just saying that....

Well it's Doom for crying out loud!

I mean I know it's supposed to be based off the Doom bible, but still it's just...

How is it there's a pistol and chaingun in Doom 64? Doom 64 uses elements from the Doom bible like the Unmaker....

I'm just trying to say, that it's a little silly there's no chaingun or pistol. Then again that could just be me.

Heck, maybe even an addon would be nice.

Again the concept of redundancy would deem the chaingun and pistol well... redundant. I personally don't mind their absence in this Mod.

Eh... now that I think about it and after playing the Alpha mod.....

It's pretty redundant. :P

I guess they should be removed.

Anyway, I hope they at LEAST up the rifle power. Because I felt as if the rifle was weaker than the pistol in the alpha version!

I do love the Alpha Shotgun though, it looks a lot like the Montana Cap Shotgun aka Tootisetoy Dakota that I have! :D

That is the shotgun, there is one in a cabinet at ids office

I have the shotgun used in Doom, and I have the pistol used in Doom.

I don't have the chaingun, rocket launcher, plasma gun, or BFG9000. :(

Uhm, I'm sorry for that, but I was planning to use this thread for important updates and such. Seeing as I don't have any important progress for the mod, I haven't seen the need to update the thread.

In any case, if I decided to cancel this project, I would also announce it here, so in case you're wondering, I still have no plans to cancel lol.

Well, I think that would be a cool idea to implement in a game where there's actually some sort of way to check how low gravity is (aka jumping). There's no jumping in Doom EU, so lowering gravity would probably not be as a great addition as it may sound...

Well, I removed those weapons because of reasons already stated by others: they are redundant. I had this idea that maybe some of the characters would use one or the other, but I'm not quite sure. It would make Deathmatch pretty interesting to say the least. This is also doable thanks to the new flags weapons can have (like restricting a weapon for certain player classes).

If I ever implement such a thing, by following Tom's original idea, for example, the handgun would go to Lorelei (since she's mentioned to be really good at using the pistol). I would also need new sprites, since Doomguy's hairy arms don't fit her very well :P

The main problem I have with this is that there are Assault Rifles laying literally everywhere (just look at those Zombiemen), and since it's the default military weapon, then why isn't she able to pick up one and use it?

When I saw this I thought of what TheMightyHeracross said, like a crossover or something, and I gotta say he's right. There's nothing like crossovers planned, because we're strictly following the Doom Bible. Maybe if Episode 1 is ever finished, I may consider adding some references to the Doom universe, since other episodes were never fully elaborated upon, and that gives a lot of room for creativity.

You could use one of the moons( phobos or demios) for episode 4, base instinct
Also you could implement an oxegen mechanic for outdoor areas, damaged areas, at least in episode 1 and do it in communications center, where there are only supposed to be robots, because robots don't breath
I have them wrote up as orbital elevators, moved into a geo-snycranas orbit over mars to help colonization, as that would make sense to be able to have them in universe.
I also have the original doom-marine planned to cameo, as you find him around the exit from hell dead, shotgun laying next to him. ( he would have his IFF tag out, and nameplate scratched off his uniform)
Also in hell it would be a great idea to have demon-ish weapons other than the dark-hand, because it does not make sense why the demons stockpiled our weapons and ammunition.
Also in episode 3 I gave tei-tenga a orbital elevator as well, because that's where you get the cruiser to destroy the planet, and it would be cooler to have a space combat sequence, as you attempt to launch the missile to destroy the planet

I mean, that's a really cool idea for easter eggs or something, but it's definitely for an independent project. Not for a Doom Bible one.

The SSG is in this mod, so the Spray Rifle would be redundant.
