Apart from the inventory system (which could have been improved for strife support?

) why has Zdoom 64 been taking so long? I think that this is the reason why

These are exciting times, we've got a new Zdoom on the way, there is Doom3, Half Life 2 (which i have just seen the E3 preview of... Damn!

), Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill 4! All games are just around the corner... and apart from the new SH game (I don't own a PS2 or an Xbox

) I will be getting them

.

I think it's mostly the "minor" issues that will set back full playability, Graf. After all, isn't that always the case? =)

Until there is an official announcement from id, all dates are guesses. The latest seems to be August 3rd, but that didn't come from id so it could be just as fake as the rest.

The last official date is "Summer 2004". That means that the game MUST come out before Sept. 1st.

That is assuming you accept the summer finishes at the end of August definition. But seeing as how the way we define the dates of the seasons, especially summer, seem to be a bit of a shifting sand with, as I understand it, no real agreement on it September 1, is not necessarily the latest possible date.

I dunno, with the present trend in "release crap now so we can have our product on the shelf - patch it 'til it works properly later" games, it may be released before it's done.
