I've had a new idea. I think that multiplayer battles with marines
versus elves would be a new and exciting experience.

May be it could be possible in HERETIC using a new marine player class
and when it's used zdoom would change only the weapons and ammunition
present on the map on the fly to those of doom.
Some DOOM graphics and sounds as well as a marine skin for heretic
would be needed, the resources could be extracted from DOOM2.

I think there's no other way to do it since only one mace spot is
used on the fly by HERETIC to put a mace there.

DOOM weapons are stronger but elves could use the tome.
This method could work in coop too.
What do you think? May be it's just a crazy idea...

I still think it would be cool, but without the BFG. Using the supershotgun
instead, and may be not allowing the marines to use some artifacts.

By the way i think there's no way to do it without modifying the ZDOOM
code, since mace spots are selected on the fly by heretic.

Now i think i've found an easy way to do it, but you'll have to wait
for 2.0.64 i'm afraid.
For DOOM it would be a little more complicated than for HERETIC but
not too much.
But why should i tell you? You haven't been very nice to poor drfrag.
I could include it in THE HERESY in a future version and you'd have
to EAT it. Ha ha ha!
But may be it would be too much junk. Well, may be if you admit that
THE HERESY is good i'll tell you.

oh, BTW, i tried Heresy again [for who knows why], AND, you completely screwed both my Doom2 and Heretic Iwads. i am NOT touching Heresy ever again. +, the palette when i did get it to work was messed up. EDIT: You owe me $20 for screwing with my machine like that.

Well, I have to admit that I didn't try Heresy after I downloaded it for fear that I might screw up my IWADS. I did, however, like that weapon replacement you included (shotgun reloading frames==1337).
