[Request] ordinary people

Post by Sodaholic »

What are some good sprites of everyday people (both genders)? They should be realistic, and I know there are some in tekwar, but I'm sure there's so many other obscure shooters that have realistic sprites of ordinary people, and I don't know where to look. Perhaps cops/security officers? Also, are there any (non shitty) santa sprites out there? Thanks in advance to anyone who helps. :)

Looking for ordinary people on a ZDoom forum? :o

Anyway, just wanted to say, please do not use Strife's peasant! I remember seeing that the Ghostbusters TC has some people standing around, but no walking frames.

You can always try building a rotating platform with a chroma key or cloth fabric background, then have someone take photos of all the needed poses. With a little image editing you'll be running around in Doom in no time!

Here's a civilian sprite I put together. Mostly edited from the Workman sprite, which I think Enjay made.

That looks neat, but the way he keeps his fists makes him look like he's going to punch someone.

Funny you would mention, I actually have built a human turntable! Unfortunately, I do not have a chromakey screen, would a bedsheet work fine?

All I can say is try it. Everything depends on lighting. I've used a large roll of black fabric from Walmart and primed gray squirt guns to replicate the same process iD used for the doom guns. (Which where toy's r us kids toys btw) Use this program for all your sprite editing: http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/

As for the lighting if all else fails, go outside when the sun is at high noon and at its brightest. Natural light works best usually.
