In the future, simply report your own post. It will be taken care of. It might sound scary but it can be used to correct such mistakes and it won't get you into any trouble.

Ask the original author's permission. It's better to be safe than sorry. If you can't get in touch with them, you might be alright as long as you give them credit, and make sure that all of their original credits still exist.

Make a new post. Better that way, so you can provide updates more easily.

I have seen your report but haven't had the time to follow it up with an investigation. I would personally treat it in a case by case basis, going mainly on intent. If the distribution of warez is completely on purpose, in a "screw copyrights, stick it to the Man" kind of way, I would probably issue warns or punishment. But around here, half the time, it's accidental, or just done out of poor understanding of etiquette. I'd sooner delete the link and say "hey could you not do that please" than go straight to the administrative action.

I haven't investigated your specific case because I'm much more frequently on my phone, on a metered connection, where I can't justify downloading just any file to investigate whether it has Warez in it. I'll bring it to the attention of my other staff and see if any of them can spare the time or bandwidth.

Hi! I don't really know if it's the right place to ask but anyway it's about "rules" so....
I'm not a very active participant of this forum but I'm a very active reader, and a lifetime player of doom!
I recently wanted to send a PM to one modder to ask him stuff about his mod but I got the following message when trying to compose PM:

"We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more to be able to use this feature. "

So my question is simple: What do I need to do or to achieve to unlock the PM feature on this forum?
