I decided to update the player sprites to a higher resolution. Its turning out nice.

Heh, I really like that design. It's unique. Both are nice, actually. If you aren't going to use the original sprite set, releasing it at some point would be a very kind thing for you to do.
And... you actually are doing a good job with making a higher res version! It's a miracle! It still captures the spirit of the original sprite while multiplying its ownage factor by 10. Sweetness.
