Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
I'm starting to think that a talent for drawing is normal nowadays. Is it a skill in your case, Project Dark Fox?

Drawing is only a talent if you can draw very well as a 9 year old kid after a very short period of actually drawing.
Drawing well after several years of drawing is not a talent, it is just the expected result of having drawn for several years.
Coincidentally by far the majority of people happen to be in the latter category!

Tl;Dr git gud
And as far as getting good goes, I'd say I'm doing pretty well at this Splatoon thing. Still leading teams nearly every game.

basically. i thought i was gonna be a game programmer my entire life, then music happened. after 3 or so years of making songs on and off i am... still fairly inexperienced when it comes to that, but hey, it's better than this shit now.Blox wrote:Drawing is only a talent if you can draw very well as a 9 year old kid after a very short period of actually drawing.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
The last thing I have done today is wake up by slamming my head against a particularly pointy-shaped rubber item which was fixated onto the floor to stop the door from slamming against my bed. I think I have grown a horn by now.
It is also a good piece of art you have created Viscra. On another note, an innocent question: Why do you prefer using a pony as your avatar instead of what you have shown us here? Personal preference, or the pony thing was the first thing you have ever created, or simply due to laziness?

Yes, it's only a skill. I am the complete opposite of talented, I was just ridiculously persistent about it.undead003 wrote:I'm starting to think that a talent for drawing is normal nowadays. Is it a skill in your case, Project Dark Fox?
Atlas drawn just last night at my lunch period.

That's a nice Atlas, although I think the legs are a bit too short relative to the rest of the mech---I know that the Atlas is supposed to be really top-heavy and linebacker-shaped, but those legs just seem somehow too small relative to the rest of the mech in that pic.Project Dark Fox wrote:Yes, it's only a skill. The rest of it looks as badass as I was expecting an Atlas to be, though!

The legs in the MechWarrior Online edition of the Atlas really are laughably tiny relative to the 'Mech.Big C wrote:That's a nice Atlas, although I think the legs are a bit too short relative to the rest of the mech---I know that the Atlas is supposed to be really top-heavy and linebacker-shaped, but those legs just seem somehow too small relative to the rest of the mech in that pic.Project Dark Fox wrote:Yes, it's only a skill. Hmmmmm...Yeah, but they still just look a little 'off' in your picture. I'm guessing it's because the Atlas in your pic is standing up straight at rest with its limbs in an idle stance, so it looks smaller than the one in that MWO pic in full battle mode---the one in the MWO pic has its legs slightly spread out in a more combative stance.

I've heard a quote, something like "talents are useless, skills are useful". It was among those words.Project Dark Fox wrote:Yes, it's only a skill. I am the complete opposite of talented, I was just ridiculously persistent about it.

Talents are only as useful as much as you pursue them.

Also, the perspective is off.Big C wrote:Hmmmmm...Yeah, but they still just look a little 'off' in your picture. That too. Still, it manages to look intimidating nonetheless, and isn't that what's important with an Atlas?
