Got back into League of Legends. Forgot how friendly the community is compared to other MOBAs.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious. I'm guessing serious, in which case how bad are OTHER MOBAs?Devianteist wrote:Got back into League of Legends. Forgot how friendly the community is compared to other MOBAs.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Speaking of Gaming Communities:
It's TF2. I'm playing on an instant-respawn server on Suijin. I choose sniper with The Classic, Razorback (sad that it still works so well), and the Pan.
Team BLU had more point then RED, and more players, so I just picked red.
So, I did regular sniper-business. I'm everything but a good sniper (or a good TF2-player), but somehow, it seemed like I had a good day. So good that I managed to get 30 kills (but only like 8-10 headshots, you know, instafragging Scouts, Engies or Snipers with a super-charged shot) in 1 round.
At the end of the round, the other team was quite pissed off that their rather static moving heavies and scouts kept getting killed by me.
Suddenly, a poll starts. "Kick player 'TheBadHustlex[<3 Girl <3]'? Reason: Cheating."

It's like when some dude is gud with Railgun on Quake Live and others loose their minds being recieved with ninja frags (especially CTF), they start to kickvote thinking the guy is using aimbot or wallhack.

i guess they just don't accept the pure yet unbelievable skills from the gamers whose good at those games, that mostly happens from young gamers.
yes, we are sometimes wants to be victorious and become good, but if they have non-aimbot, noclip, god mode or insta-killing pure skill for sure, we gotta accept that they are superior than us. and become good and revenging them would be satisfying.

Quake live, those were the days. I remember how in team arena when I was the only guy left and had the whole team watching me, the pressure and adrenaline made me play like 3 times better. Won a round were I was left alone vs 4 dudes once that way, and I wasn't normally even very good.

I've been doing a Fallout New Vegas stream for six hours straight.
Well, technically it's not even New Vegas anymore. It's just... Dust.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Other MOBAs, specifically those with steep learning curves like DOTA, tend to have hysterically toxic reactions to newbs/noobs and often use global chat to point out said nubs so that the enemy team with kill them, to which they'll happily oblige. That may just have been my experience, but that was all I saw for a month.Big C wrote:Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious. EDIT: That's not to say that the entire community of any MOBA is not without their share of good and great, and all of them have amazing examples of those. It's just that the bad tends to murk through to the outside a lot more easily.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
so i downloaded the latest git build of GZDoom, and for some reason it didn't load my settings in the ini file, so it loaded the default settings for everything. not even my autoloaded files worked. is that normal?

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
IIRC, GZDoom recently switched to naming its configuration files zdoom-[username].ini instead of gzdoom-[username].ini. Check your program folder and ensure which configuration is the correct one, then overwrite the other one with it.Viscra Maelstrom wrote:so i downloaded the latest git build of GZDoom, and for some reason it didn't load my settings in the ini file, so it loaded the default settings for everything. not even my autoloaded files worked. is that normal?

@wildweasel
Isn't that the other way around?
(IIRC GZDoom had to change its ini file's name due to the autoload section being completely different between the latest official builds of GZDoom and ZDoom...)
