Personally I found LOOT to be immensely dumb. It produces chaotic, random load orders with little sense that actually managed to make conflicts.overrides worse off compared to modlist-based ordering.Amuscaria wrote:Pulling my hair out trying to make Skyrim mods compatible. As far as compatibility, I ended up making a load-last mod and manually merging conflicts via TES5Edit. Merges I haven't seen any other automated tool manage to do properly or at all.

I beat XIII again today. This is the second time this month, the first time was me finishing a year old save. I love XIII, been playing it since it came out. I learn more and more about the game with each playthrough.

it sounds like it should be in an early, easy level or a level that has alot of twists and small corners that monsters can hide behind.undead003 wrote:How's this for something dark?
the drum bit at the end makes me think that you are about to start in with some sort of mello rock rhythm (which would be great). but then the music ends and i'm like "wtf?".
over all i liked it. but i think you should either expand on the drum bit on the end (either by shortening the middle section or by making the music longer), or just leave it out.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
I didn't actually like the beat in the end because the track is so calm and the snare drum isn't, but that's just me.
I updated the file though, with a more organized bassline - give it another listen!
I have made a midi based off of it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/i3n6eatqdlf9p ... m.mid?dl=1

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Just trying to get back up to speed after a month or so of being deep, deep undercover.
OK, actually just being deep, deep snowed under with real-life nonsense. Most of June was a write-off and I know things are going to start getting hectic in about three weeks again. Been posting a bit on Doomworld but simply haven't had the time to come here too because usually, when I do, I end up spending hours here.
Can't say that I did much that was noteworthy in the last month and a half or so.

Enjay, broski. I noticed you went away for a while, which was much longer than a month. Glad you're back.

Thanks.
I just wish that what I was doing instead had been more enjoyable. It wasn't awful (mostly work stuff, and general real-life being busy stuff) but it wasn't much fun either.

Experience has taught me that the Elder Scrolls games and FO3-onward Fallout games SOUND nice but are a mess out of the box and an ambitious mess with mods. They're better in theory than in practice, and I know it's not just because of "not enough time to bugfix"---lack of bugfixing doesn't explain away the tedium of having to manually switch between spells and thuum shouts through a menu in the middle of what is supposed to be an action RPG.Amuscaria wrote:Pulling my hair out trying to make Skyrim mods compatible. to be fair, Fallout 3 didn't crash nearly as many times as Skyrim did, plus there was actual motivation for me to complete the main quest (that being a buttload of experience points for each quest being finished, plus i actually found myself caring more for the fate of my character's father than the fate of Skyrim.) now Skyrim, though... it's still fun to play, but that thing has crashed more times on me than i count.Big C wrote:Experience has taught me that the Elder Scrolls games and FO3-onward Fallout games SOUND nice but are a mess out of the box and an ambitious mess with mods. Considering how buggy Fallout 3 already was that's kind of impressive.Viscra Maelstrom wrote:to be fair, Fallout 3 didn't crash nearly as many times as Skyrim did, plus there was actual motivation for me to complete the main quest (that being a buttload of experience points for each quest being finished, plus i actually found myself caring more for the fate of my character's father than the fate of Skyrim.) now Skyrim, though... it's still fun to play, but that thing has crashed more times on me than i count.Big C wrote:Experience has taught me that the Elder Scrolls games and FO3-onward Fallout games SOUND nice but are a mess out of the box and an ambitious mess with mods. Also, everyone praises New Vegas for having a better story, but...I dunno. I just don't like its sandbox as much as FO3's. It didn't help that New Vegas was DELIBERATELY engineered so that you couldn't get everything on the same playthrough---there were lots of branches that got cut off, and while New Vegas has a nice story I think the gameplay/sandbox elements suffer for it. And it didn't help that with New Vegas there were problems like the pre-order DLC weapons not playing nice with cheevos and certain Perks. New Vegas has some meritable things to it but overall it feels like it's way too big for its britches, and I shouldn't need mods to fix what aren't even unintended bugs but simply sloppy/lazy design.

I never said it's a Doom midi.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Well, I managed to fix my Skyrim FINALLY. After 4 hours of testing, not a single crash. Apparently I was doing the Merged Patch completely wrong because I followed this instructional video on Youtube, and I didn't clean my Skyproc patches for Perkus Maximus. Back to Homing Chicken Crossbow!
