FIRST AND SECOND MAP AUUUUGH! WITH A POLL!

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

If I were to work on a big project using the theme I've been using so far, what would you like?

A huge map with good detail, monsters that teleport inside the map, extensive use of ZDoom features etc.

Especially suggesting them to someone who just made his first two maps! Custom monsters are great when used correctly, I think before using custom monsters,one should know how to map without them.

Yes, a level with monsters from that site would be pretty cool, but I don't think I need to use them for what I plan on doing.
Hint: What would you do if you were dropped in a room full of explosive barrels?

I would take the enemy out before they can get to the barrels.

I would try to get out of the room by walking around the barrels or jumping over them making sure not to shoot anything in case I accidentally shoot a barrel, then blow them all up when I am a safe distance away (about 128 units) in case I ever go back to the room.

I would ninja above all of the barrels and survive without a scratch.

EDIT: Crap, I can't do that! Barrels use doom's old explosion code which doesn't consider height. I'll have to "fix" that in my ninja gear wad.

What would I do in a room full of barrels? Dip Sephiron and ZDG and anyone else on my Ignore List into their own barrels.

BACK ON TOPIC realistically assuming I'm starting within the blast radius...

...if a monster is also starting out able to see me I'm just going to call bullshit and play something else.

If not, then a quick 360 to see where the exit is and where the monster reveal/teleport-in is. Then point my chaingun that way, get prepared to run in and take a few point-blank shots so the bad guys don't miss before they die, and slowly back into whatever triggers the reveal.

Actually, I'm now working with Sephiron on his RPG. I'm helping out with the plot and dialogue. I also might help with some ideas for scenario's, maybe more things , so I probably won't be able to make my Barrel Factory map anytime soon, but here's what the basic idea is. You'll be in a barrel factory, and something goes wrong, there will be barrels dropping from the sky and barrels flying everywhere and you'll have to run from a sea of exploding barrels. No enemies, maybe some scripted marines getting killed around you, but no enemies.
