I originally took this to mean that the issue had been fixed and v3.2.8 had been released. However, the SLADE downloads page only shows up to v3.2.7. I take it you meant that the issue will be fixed in the next version., correct?

it has been fixed in this special version of of 3.2.7 https://github.com/sirjuddington/SLADE/ ... 2794097207 that I guess the download page was not updated with.

Thanks. I am currently not in a pressing need for the feature I was requesting, so I'll just wait for the official 3.2.8 release. However, if the need arises, I will download and use the updated v3.2.7.

I have two physically separate sectors that are joined as one. I'd like to split them so each is its own sector. Is there a way to do this?

I use UDB for mapping but I think if you move your mouse over one of the areas, all of the various sector parts will flash-highlight. However, if you press Insert (assuming default key-binds) the one that your mouse is over will be allocated as a new sector.

[Edit:] Yes, on a quick try, that worked. FWiW, in UDB the same thing can be achieved by pressing M for make sectors mode and then clicking on the areas that you want to become their own separate sectors.

Thanks.

I already know about the make sectors mode in UDB. I just wanted to know if I can achieve a similar thing in SLADE because that's what I'm using for mapping currently, even though I have UDB installed, too.

There is something that has bothered me about Slade for a while now and I wonder if it happens to anyone else and if it can be fixed?

If I have a file (WAD, PK3, whatever) open in Slade and I am inspecting a text lump, highlight some text and ctrl-c to copy it, the text gets copied to the clipboard.
However, if I then quit Slade and go into another program and press ctrl-v, Windows has "forgotten" that I copied something, so I can't paste it.

If I check my clipboard history, sure enough, the copied text is there (and I can reactivate it) and an obvious solution is to not do the "quit Slade" step in the above sequence until I have finished pasting, but I get caught out by this over and over and if it was possible to address, it would be great.

I have no idea why it happens, but Slade is the only program I have experienced this with.

This should be fixed in 3.2.10 when it's out

Oh, I look forward to that. Thank you. I was doing some stuff today and several times I closed Slade and found my system had de-focused from what I'd copied and I had nothing to paste when I went into another program.

Thank you.
And, confirmed, I can now copy text in Slade, close Slade and paste into another application without having to "reactivate" the clipboard entry. There will be less swearing in my house now. :D

After installing the new version, I looked in my Slade directory and noticed that I have a bunch of old files there that don't come with Slade. I don't know if they ever did actually come with Slade, or if they had to be installed by the user (i.e. me) but, presumably, I put them there for a reason at some point. Are any of these still required by Slade?

I think the pngtools folder is probably redundant because those are in a subfolder of Tools now. Not sure about the extra DLLs though. Presumably the old pdb file can go?

Yeah, from that screenshot the only things that need to be there are the files with a 2026 date, everything else is no longer needed.
